Malcom McCranie, late a Representative from the parish of Jackson in the Legislature of this State. Mr. McCranie died of cholera on his way from Baton Rouge to his home. Additional Comments: Malcom was the father of George William McCranie, the publisher of the Ouachita Telegraph newspaper in Monroe after the Civil War. George had just turned 12 years old when his father died. Malcom was the husband of Mary Walton.
