All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Opal Goodman Peppers Opal Goodman Peppers, 75, of Jena, died at 3:45 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 1998, at the Life Care Hospital in Shreveport. She was a retired school teacher and member of the First Baptist Church of Jena. She was born in Rapides Parish on Feb. 20, 1923, to the union of David Louis and Beulah Eugenia Jones Goodman. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Arnold Norsworthy and William Poe officiating. Graveside services followed in the Jonesboro City Cemetery in Jonesboro at 3 p.m., with burial under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Laurin W. Peppers of Jena; one daughter, Diane Brown of Shreveport; one sister, Betty Goodman of Jena; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were N. H. Poole, Clay White, Norman Welch, Dixie Wilson, Robert Wood, and Tony McDonald.
