All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Tracey Jackson Flossxing1@aol.com July 11, 2004, 2:08 am The Jackson Independant C Rasberry Passes Away Fourth Victim to Die, Following Tank Explosion at Hodge Mill Crawford Rasberry, of Jonesboro, died at the Ruston-Lincoln Sanitarium in Ruston, Friday night, March 24th., the fourth victim to succumb to injuries received in a recent explosion of a tank of hot wood pulp at the mill of the Southern Advance Bag and Paper Co., Inc., at Hodge, which severly burned five white men and a negro man, all of whom were immediately rushed to the Ruston Hospital. Preceeding Mr. Rasberry in death, were Messrs. C. E. Corley, of Jonesboro, J. P. Charles and G. J. Meek of Hodge. Surviving victims of the tragedy are Gordy Williams, white, and the negro, Manuel Rogers, who remain at the Ruston sanitarium in a very serious condition. Mr. Rasberry's remains were laid to rest in the Jonesboro cemetery, Sunday, with the American Legion, of which he was a member, in charge of ceremonies. Surviving Mr. Rasberry are his wife and several children, and a host of friends throuout this section.
