Mr. J.W. Rasbury, of Quitman, R. 1, informs of the death of one of
the most respected Negroes of the Beech Springs settlement, J.D.
Stringer, who died last Monday after an operation. He states that he
was an honest, industrious Negro and highly respected in the
community in which he lived. He was also a great co-worker with the
colored race in the Baptist church and Sunday School. He will be
greatly missed by both the white and colored people.
