Robert Gordon Upchurch, age 82, of Jonesboro died Tuesday July 28, 1987 in
the Jackson Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Upchurch was a
navie of Jackson Parish. He was a merchant.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 30 in the Buck Edmonds
Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Jackie Hightower, Rev. Jimmie Miller,
and Rev. David Walsworth conducting the services.
Burial was in the Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral
Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Upchurch of Jonesboro; two sons,
Robert Gordon Upchurch Jr. of Houston, Texas; Jack Darrell Upchurch of
Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Johns of Jonesboro; Mrs. Nadine
Trowbride of Big Sandy, Texas; and Mrs. Sandra Primrose of Shreveport; two
step-daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Traina and Mrs. Jean McKinney of Jonesboro; one
sister, Mrs. Bessie Willis of Shreveport; 17 grandchildren, three step-
grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Donnie Primrose, Tim Carsadden, Jeff Primrose, Phillip
Upchurch, Bob Upchurch, Fred Chambers, Charles John, Richard Sneed, Randy
McKinny and Reggie McKinny.
