of the most trying days I can remember, Two of our families had the hard task of laying loved ones to rest. Jo Tait and Annine Vail will walk in the valley of the shadow of death for several days while doing the had work of giving up their life-long spouses. They will need our support in special ways. Loosing "Preacher" Vail from our deacon body is a severe blow to our church. He loved our church and went far out of his way many times to serve any of our number who happened to be in need. No pastor ever had a finer friend than I had in "Preacher" Vail. My memories of him will be rekindled every time I go hunting with the 16 gauge shotgun he gave me. They will be rekindled every time I look at the announcement page in the bulletin and see the "Preacher" Vail prayer group announced for Tuesday mornings. They will be rekindled every time I watch a basketball game and see a referee make a bad call. "Preacher" called hundreds of games in his younger days and as a former referee in his easy chair he couldn't sit still for a bad call. Finally, I will remember him every time I go fishing and recall the strange sight of "Preacher" fishing with four fishing poles all at the same time. What a priviledge it has been to have the joy of worshipping each week in our church with folks like "Preacher" and Annine Vail. If you're not comming to worship regularly with us, you are missing out on the joy of sharing life with some of the finest people on this Earth. Come join us. Sincerely yours, (signed) Bro.
