All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Vail, Cora Thomas Mrs. Jackson Independent—March 24, 1966 Mrs. Cora Thomas Vail, age 85, of Jonesboro died Thursday morning, March 17, 1966, in the Jackson Parish hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. C.B. Ellis and Rev. Eldred Blakely conducting. Burial was in the Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mrs. Vail was a lifelong resident of Jackson Parish and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, A.M. (Preacher) Vail of Jonesboro, Robert Vail and Jeffie Vail, both of Quitman; three daughters, Mrs. Adrian Peevy and Mrs. Effie Gilmore, both of Jonesboro; Mrs. Lennie Brown of Hodge; 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Clevelon Brown, R.E. Brown, L. C. Gilmore, John E. Jimmerson, William Jimmerson, Dickie Vail, James Vail and Jeffie Vail Jr.
