Quitman- Funeral services for Carl Dawson Walker, 46, of Quitman were held
at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with
the Rev. J. W. Kennedy officiating. Burial was in Womack Cemetery near
Chatham.
Mr. Walker a retired Army veteran, died Monday morning at his home after an
apparent heart attack.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Conine Owens Walker of Quitman; tow sons,
John Dewaine Walker of Montersy, California., Leamon Griffith of El Dorado,
Ark; one step-daughter, Mrs. Betty Porter of Jonesboro; two brothers Mack J.
Walker of Jonesboro; and Herbert Walker of Shreveport; six sisters, Mrs. R.
L. Collins, mrs. Myrtle Bowman, both of Shreveport; Mrs. Velman Johnson of
Pascagou;a, Miss.; Mrs. Marie Dorsey of Henderson, texas, Mrs. J. H. Erwin
of Longview, Texas,; Mrs. Oreans Hammett of Jonesboro; one grandchild and
nine step-grandchildren.
