OBITUARY.
  Died, at the residence of J.M. Walker, in Jackson Parish, La., Oscar, 
infant son of J.M. and S.J. Walker, aged one month and two days.
  Poor little Oscar; his time was short on earth, but in the language of the 
poet - 
          Happy infant, early bless'd.
          Rest in peaceful slumbers, rest.

     Died, at the residence of the same, on the 13th day of September, 1864, 
of congestion of the brain, Robert May, son of the above named parents, aged 
8 years, 8 months and 19 days.
     Little Bobby was an extraordinary child, and doted on by all who knew 
him; an excellent child, both at home and school, and wherever he was known.  
Poor little Bobby, he has gone from his relatives on earth to his Great 
Relative, (God.) in a world of happiness, where there is no more congestion 
and scorching fevers; but where sickness, sorrow, pain and death, are felt 
and feared no more.
     Farewell, little Bobby, till we meet you again in the climes of 
immortal bliss.
               That little soul is
          Far away now, from mortal sight,
          Where angels ever shine so bright.

     Died, at the residence of the same, on the 9th day of October, 1861[?], 
of cholera infantum.  Edgar, son of the above named parents, aged 10 months 
and 19 days.
     Sweet little babe, we shall see thee no more till we see thee in the 
arms of a dear Savior.
          No delight are worth thy stay,
          Smiling as they seem, and gay;
          Lasting, only, and divine,
          Is an innocence like thine.
                              A RELATIVE.
