All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ************************************************ United States of America State of Louisiana City of New Orleans BE IT KNOWN, that on this Eleventh day of the Month of March, in the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and eighteen, (1918), and of the Independence of the United States of America, the one hundred and forty second:- BEFORE ME, MELONCY CHARLES SONIAT, a Notary Public, duly commissioned and qualified in and for the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, and in the presence of the witnesses hereinafter named and undersigned: Personally came and appeared, MURPHY FAVALORA, husband of Rosa Bazile, a resident of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, of full age, WHO DECLARED, That for and in consideration of the price and sum herein stipulated he does by these presents, grant, bargain, sell, transfer, assign, abandon, and set over, with all legal warranties, and with substitution and subrogation to all his rights and actions in warranty against all preceding vendors, owners or possessors, and with a full guarantee from all debts, claims, mortgages, privileges taxes, donations, alienations or incumbrances whatsoever unto CHARLES RANDAZZO, husband of Josephine Favalora, a resident of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, of full age, here present, accepting and purchasing for himself his heirs and assigns forever, and acknowledging delivery and possession thereof, the following described real estate, to-wit:- A CERTAIN PORTION OF GROUND, situated in the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, left decending bank of the Mississippi River, at a distance of about five miles above the upper limits of the City of New Orleans, forming part of the lost designated by the Number Three on a plan survey made by Sidney F. Lewis, Surveyor, dated February 25th 1910, annexed to an act of partition executed before Edgar Grima, Notary Public, in the City of New Orleans, on March 19th, 1910, which portion of ground measures in American Measure, more or less four hundred and sixty five feet (465') front on the Public Road, starting at a point or bourne "S", the limit of the upper line, to a point or bourne "W": The limit of the lower line, thence to the rear and fronting the Public Road on the South side of the Orleans- Kenner R.R. more or less Two thousand one hundred and ninety feet (2190') thence along said Public Road more or less Four hundred (400'), thence on the upper line, more or less Two thousand three hundred and ten feet (2310') to point or bourne "S" the place of beginning. Bounded in front by the Public Road, on the upper side by Lot No.2 belonging to the heirs of Mrs. Amedee Fortier, below by the property belonging to the heirs of Charles T. Soniat, and in the rear by the Public Road on the South side of the Orleans-Kenner R.R. Together with all the buildings and improvements thereon, rights, ways, privileges, servitudes and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. This sale is made subject to all the servitudes, conditions, restrictions, burdens with all the benefits, rights and advantages thereof established on said property by virtue of the act of partition executed before Edgar Grima, Notary Public, on March 19th 1910. Being part of the same property which was acquired by Murphy Favalora from the heirs of G.V. Soniat du Fossat, as per act of sale executed before Meloncy C. Soniat, Notary Public, on June 21st 1911, registered in Conveyance Office of Jefferson Parish in Book 30 folio 473. To have and to hold the above described property unto the present purchaser his heirs and assigns to their only proper use and behoof forever. THIS SALE is made and accepted for and in consideration of the price and sum of Four thousand ($4000.00) which the purchaser has paid unto the said vendor Cash in United States currency, for which vendor acknowledges receipt and grants acquitance and discharge. The parties hereto do hereby declare that all the taxes on the above described property up to and including the year 1917 have been paid, and they do hereby exonerate the undersigned Notary from any and all liability or responsibility in the event any tax should be due and remaining unpaid. The parties do hereby dispense with the production of a Mortage and non-alienation certificates in the name of the present vendor, as required by law, and they do hereby exonerate the undersigned Notary from any and all liability or responsibility in the premises. The undersigned Notary do hereby certify that he has affixed in the margin of the Duplicate original of this act filed with the Clerk of Court of Jefferson Parish United States Internal Revenue Stamps to the value of $4.00 and that he has duly cancelled the same. THIS SALE also includes One Wagon, Two mules now on said place also plows and implements of husbandry as stipulated on said place. THIS DONE AND PASSED in Duplicate at my office in this city, the day month and year first above written in the presence of Charles Schmaltz and Joseph Lauricella competent witnesses residing in Jefferson Parish, who have hereunto signed their names with appearers and me Notary after due erading of the whole. The said Murphy Favalora and the said Charles Randazzo declared that they are illiterate and do not know how to sign their names, they have therefore affixed each his ordinary mark.
