All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ************************************************ United States of America State of Louisiana City of New Orleans BE IT KNOWN, that on this Third day of the Month of September, in the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and nineteen, (1919), and of the Independence of the United States of America, the one hundred and forty fourth:- BEFORE ME, Francis D'Assises Charbonnet, Jr., a Notary Public, in and for the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, duly commissioned and quali- fied, and in the presence of the witnesses hereinafter named and undersigned: Personally came and appeared, The General Building and Loan Association a corporation of this state, domiclied in Jefferson Parish, created by an act before F.D. Charbonnet, Jr., notary of this city, date July 1st, 1918, and recorded in Mortgage Office of Jefferson Parish, herein authorized by resolution of its Board of Directors, a certified copy of such resolution being attached and made part hereof, who declared that for the consideration and on the terms and conditions hereinafter expressed, it does, by these presents, grant, bargin, sell, convey, transfer, assign and set over, unto ANTONINO MAGGIORE, of full age and a resident of the parish of Jefferson this state, who declared that he married by once and then to Angelina Rando who lives and resides with him, who is here present accepting and purchasing and acknowleding due delivery and possession thereof, the following described property, subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be contained in any previous transfer, and together with all buildings and improvements thereon, and all rights, ways, privileges, servitudes, advantages and prescriptions thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to-wit: A CERTAIN PORTION OF GROUND, situated in the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, left bank of the Mississippi River, at a distance of about five miles above the upper limits of the City of New Orleans, forming part of the lot designated by the Number THREE on a plan survey made by Sidney F. Lewis, Surveyor, dated February 25th 1910, annexed to an act of partition executed before Edgar Grima, Notary Public, in this city, on March 19th, 1910, which portion of ground measures in American Measure, more or less four hundred and sixty five feet (465') front on the Public Road, starting at a point or bourne "S", the limit of the upper line, to a point or bourne "W": The limit of the lower line, thence to the rear and fronting the Public Road on the South side of the Orleans-Kenner R.R. more or less Two thousand one hundred and ninety feet (2190') thence along said Public Road more or less Four hundred (400'), thence on the upper line, more or less Two thousand three hundred and ten feet (2310') to point or bourne "S" the place of beginning; bounded in front by the Public Road, on the upper side by Lot No.2 belonging to the heirs of Mrs. Amedee Fortier, below by the property belonging to the heirs of Charles T. Soniat, and in the rear by the Public Road, on the South side of the Orleans-Kenner Electric Railroad. This sale is made subject to all the servitudes, conditions, restrictions, burdens with all the benefits, rights and advantages thereof established on said property by virtue of the act of partition executed before Edgar Grima, Notary Public, on March 19th 1910. Being part of the same property which was acquired by Antonino Maggiore by act passed before me, this day and which act is registered in conveyance office in the Court House at Gretna, Louisiana. The said purchaser agrees to make no repairs, additions or alterations to the building and improvements on the ground herein conveyed, nor to allow work to be done thereon, whereby a lein and privilege may be created, without obtaining previously the written consent of the said corporation. THIS SALE is made and accepted for and in consideration of the price and sum of Ten Thousand dollars ($10,000.00). And the purchaser has made and subscribed a promissory note, or obligation, for the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00). All taxes due on said property up to the 31st of December 1918, are paid, and as regards the subsequent taxes the purchaser assumes payment thereof. THIS DONE AND PASSED in duplicate originals, at my office in the City of New Orleans, on the day and date aforesaid, in the presence of: Celena North and Leo J. Vivien, competent witnesses, who sign with said appearers and me, notary, after reading the whole. GENERAL BUILDING & LOAN ASSOCIATION H.
