Taylor and Leo Kerner and the late Gustave Fazende, Mrs. Adam Barrios, Mrs. Edmond Belsome and Victor Kerner Jr. Brother of William Kerner, also survived by 31 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren, aged 83 years, a native and resident of Barataria, La. Relatives and friends of the family also officials and employees of the Gretna Courthouse are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from the Gretna funeralhome of Leitz-Eagan, 3234 Lafayette Avenue, on Saturday afternoon July 30, 1938 at 3:30 o'clock. Newspaper Article: JUDGE KERNER, 83, OF BARATARIA, DIES Jefferson Parish Justice for Several Years Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock for Judge Victor Kerner Sr., 83 years old, Justice Of The Peace in Barataria, La. for 42 years, who died today at 8 a.m. at his residence in Barataria. Funeral rites will take place from the Lietz-Eagan Funeral Home in Gretna with religious services at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and interment in Barataria cemetery. Judge Kerner is survived by his widow, the former Ida May Pizani; four daughters Mrs. P. Belsome, Mrs. Albert Linden, Mrs. Alex Pizani and Mrs. Gustave Fabre; two sons, Walter L. Taylor and Leo Kerner; a brother, William Kerner and 31 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for the late Judge Victor Kerner of Barataria, who died at his home Friday at 8 a.m. after an illness of some time, will take place this afternoon in St. Anthony's Church in Barataria. Interment to follow in the cemetery there. The funeral will take place at 3:30 p.m. from the Leitz-Eagan funeral home, 334 Lafayette Avenue, Gretna. Judge Kerner, since 1896, had held the office of third justice of the peace and was the nestor of elective officials in Jefferson Parish. He was 83 years old and had spent his whole lifetime in the Barataria section. He leaves his widow, who was former Miss Ida May Pizani, and seven children, Mrs. P. Belsome, Mrs. Albert Linden, Mrs. Alex Pizani, Mrs. Gustave Fabre, Walter L., Taylor and Leo Kerner; also 31 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and a brother, William Kerner. Four other children preceded him to the grave.
