KNUPPEL
George A. Knuppel, Sr., a fisher, died Tuesday of cancer at Metropolitan 
Hospice.  He was 71.  Mr. Knuppel was born in Myrtle Grove and lived in 
Lafitte for many years.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.  
Survivors include two sons, George A. Knuppel Jr. and Russel "Rip" 
Blank Jr.; two brothers, Hans and Herbert Knuppel; a sister, Betty Ortego; 
and two grandchildren.  A Mass will be said today at 9:20 a.m. at St. 
Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte.  Visitation will be from 7 to 9 a.m. 
at the Knights of Columbus Benevolent Home, Gloria Drive, Lafitte.  
Burial will be in St. Pius Cemetery in Crown Point.   
Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
