METAIRIE - Donald F. Mince Sr., 79, a native of Kenner and resident of LaPlace 
for 22 years, died Jan. 2. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. Mince, 
and father of Donna rosenlund, Donald Jr., Gerald, Bruce and Barry Mince.
He was also the brother of Ella Cunningham, Mary Frabbiele, Ruth Abdo and 
Henry Lee Mince, and the late Iva Pedigo, Jeanne May Garcia, Clint, Walter, 
Albert and Charles Mince.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and drove a Higgins boat for five 
engagements, worked as a salesman for Baumer Foods for 25 years, presiden of 
M&M Brokerage and founder of Geanie's Seafood in LaPlace.

Services are Jan. 6 in the chapel of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 
Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories, Metairie. Visitation starts at 
9 a.m. Thursday.
