SARTIN
Mrs. Annie Bell Lampton Sartin was born on March 22, 1929 to the late Levi and 
Carrie Lampton.  She was preceeded in death by her husband the late Reverend 
Jacob Sartin Jr., one daugther Lillie Jean Sartin Nichols, her 2 sisters 
Marybell Lampton, Elizabeth Lampton Foxworth, two brothers J.B. Lampton and 
Lucious Lampton.  She was united in holy matrimony to Reverend Jacob Sartin 
Jr. on July 13, 1946.  To this union two sons were born and seven daughters 
were born; Joseph, Robert Earl, Lillie, Carolyn, Glendora, Shirley, Janice, 
Shelia, and Mechelle.  She came to Bogalusa, Louisiana in 1946 and united with 
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Leroy McEwen which was 
later pastored by Rev. Versie Smith and then Rev. Tom Bailey.  She then united 
with The New Triumph Baptist Church when her husband the late Rev. Jacob 
Sartin Jr. became the pastor.  She remained there until her death.  She worked 
faithfully in the church.  She was the mother of the church, president of the 
mother's board and vice president of Senior mission.  God called her home to 
take a rest on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 1:10 A.M.  Mother Sartin leaves 
to mourn her two sons Joseph (Gloria) Sartin of Washington D.C., Robert Earl 
Sartin of Bogalusa, Louisiana, six daughters Caroly Sartin (Willie) Jackson, 
Mechelle (Joey) Robinson all of Bogalusa, Louisiana; Glendora Bullington Of 
Killen, Texas, Janice S. Cooley of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, Shirley (Boyd) 
West and Sheila Sartin Of Chicago, Illinois, one brother Samuel Lampton of 
Bogalusa, Louisiana, one uncle Anthony Ludd of Chicago, Illinois; two special 
nieces Barbara Dexter Brock and Dorothy Sartin both of Bogalusa, Louisiana; 
three grandchildern she reared Gerard K. Jackson, Roderick Sartin and Reginald 
Van Sartin all of Bogalusa, Louisiana; two special friends Mrs. Marie Brock, 
Mrs. Pansie Tyson.  Twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-nine great grand children, 
seven sister-in-laws, six brother-in-laws a host of nieces, nephews, and 
relatives and friends.
