Wells, Sr. passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the age of 81. He was a native of Millville, NJ and a resident of Kenner for the past 35 years. Mr. Wells served in the U. S. Army as an assistant fire chief in the Panama Canal Zone and retired from T. L. James Dredging Co. after 20 years of designing dredges. Beloved husband of Lytan Bangs Wells for 56 years. Loving father of Nancy W. Gerald (the late Ovid David), Leonard N. Wells, Jr. (Cathy), Barbara W. Munson (Ronald) and Linda Wells. Grandfather of Jamie M. Dugas (Derek), Kerry S. Wells, Dustin J. Wells (Leslie), Leonard "Trey" Wells III, and Amanda L. Munson. Great-grandfather of Amelia C. Wells. Also survived by his brother, James A. Wells; brothers-in-law, Floyd C. and Daniel R. Bangs; and sister-in-law, Vera R. Wells. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard R. and Ethel C. Wells; brothers, Howard W., Kenneth H. and Elwood A. Wells; and sisters, Florence W. Foote and Maude W. Pennington. Relatives, friends and employees of T. L. James are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Chapel of the Kenner Funeral Home of L. A. Muhleisen and Son, 2607 Williams Blvd., on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
