The Cities of Lafayette, Carrollton & Jefferson, Faubourgs and part of McDonoghville (Algiers) are now part of New Orleans. Freetown was part of McDonoghville. Part of McDonoghville and all of Mechanicham are now part of Gretna. The "Town of Brooklyn" is now part of Gretna but there were other west bank areas called Brooklyn without "town" mentioned. The testimentary executor is to be his wife, Adele Sauve, "who I thank with all my heart for everything she gave me during our marriage. If any clouds came up between us, I ask her forgiveness and I ask her to accept the mulatto, Baptiste." To his son, Alexander Zenon Troudeau he leaves 2 mullato brothers, Adolphe and Nelson. In recognition of his taking care of his father, "a small compensation for the time and pains he took in the administration of my affairs," he leaves another negro named Celestine. "being in the same category I leave to my dear and adored wife as a charge as well as a gift, not desiring that he will serve another master after her. I leave to (?) Sauve the necessaire that Gay Lussae gave me, and to the latter (Gay Lussas) my watch. I recommend to my dear Adele the family of Phrosine, and she above all.
