George's wife is the maternal aunt of Catharine Clark. A will was filed in New Orleans 2/25/1864. No children by the second wife, Mary Agnes. Caroline Bauer's mother, Caroline Newberry, claims Hollingsworth owes her $1700. $800 of it was for the slave, Julie, 37 and her son George who were gifts from the mother to the daughter "for life" when she married. The purchase of that property should be available on microfilm. I believe Kugler is Kuchler and Sprower is Sprauer, based on personal knowledge that Barbara Kuchler married Joseph Sprauer. Also, Casimir & Margaret Ehret were witnesses for the death record. Sprauer, Kuchler, & Ehret are inter-related Gretna surnames. Ethell, was the brother-in-law & a creditor of the deceased. Another opposition was filed by William C. Lee, creditor, via his attorney, William Wickware. Property: 5 lots in Faubourg Plaisance in the City of Jefferson, bounded by Louisiana avenue, Camp, Magazine & Delachaise was purchased May 14, 1856 from Louise P. Delachaise. 1 lot originally sold to the widow Marie V. A. Pucheu on March 18, 1858, was bought by James Alexander May 3, 1858. It had a 32' front on Camp st. Estate notice was in Jefferson Journal on July 3, 6 & 10, 1867. At film marker 000513, Isabella Bobb petitions the court to be tutrix of her minors, with James B. Thompson as under-tutor. As of a document filed on August 27, 1869, as docket No. 124, "Belle" Bobb of Claiborne County, Miss. lists the minors as: William B. Alexander, Annie Alexander, & Isabella Alexander (later noted as Jessie Belle Alexander). On 2/5/1872, Belle opposes the tableau filed by Bennett P. Ethell. William B. Alexander is 21 as of document dated March 26, 1872. On June 14, 1872 Annie and Jessie Belle are still minors. Exact ages are not given. Family meeting: William B. Alexander, Charles P. First day stock value $17,900. Second day stock value $13,487. Cash on hand and bank balance total $138,310. Accounts receivable total $31,923. Accounts payable Fifty dollars ($50.00). Peter was a native of County Cork, Ireland. Property: Louisiana avenue bounded by Plaquemine (Coliseum) & Toledano, valued at $10,000. Personal and household belongings $3,575. Marriage certificate, St. Alphonsus Church, shows they were married Nov. 16, 1856 by Rev. Peter P. McGram. Witnesses: F. Newhalt, Jac. Turner, J. C. Dennies & J. Weir. Marriage certificate copy was prepared by John Duff, priest. Family meeting consisted entirely of friends in lieu of relatives. Mary's death is sworn to by Thomas W.
