Property 2: three lots in Bourough of Freeport bounded by Plaquemines, Perrier, Marengo and Milan. Property 3: four lots in Carrollton on Burdette bounded by Zimple, Washington & Fourth. Property 4: four lots in B. of Freeport bounded by General Taylor, Austerlitz, Laurel & Jersey. [NOTES: Some properties belonged to one or the other & some were mutual ownerships. Magdalena Grob and Henry Clasen signed pre-nuptual agreements, each bringing money into the marriage. [NOTE: Jersey is now Annunciation. Plaquemines is now Coliseum. Fourth in Carrollton is now Oak street. The Borough of Free Port, or Freeport, originally from Toledano to the upper line of Bloomingdale (between State & Webster), was incorporated in 1846. Its' boundaries vacillated with community growth. 174 Foucher, Louis Frederick S 1886-1888 2 X 04026093934908 49 11/23/1869 Paris, Fr. 000431 Louis Frederick Foucher, Marguis de Circe, died in Parish on Nov 23, 1869. Petitioner: Albin Rochereau, filed petition March 1, 1870. Foucher had property in both Orleans & Jefferson parishes that needed to be inventoried. His widow was Marie Margaret Felice Burthe. She was represented by W.T. Hepp of New Orleans. The documents here are simply a request for inventories to be made. 175 Dusuan, Joseph Arthur S 1886-1888 2 X 04026093934908 49 10/28/1869 Jefferson 000440 Brother/Petitioner: Victor Oliver Dusuan de la Croix of New Orleans. He filed on March 3, 1870. Their father was Charles Dusuan. Their mother was Francoise Amelie Forbereau. Brother/Sister: Simeon Fernand Dusuan; Marie Albert Dusuan; Marie Louis Dusuan; all minors and the Petitioner, Victor Oliver Dusuan. Property in St. Charles Parish, 36 miles above New Orleans on the right bank (west) was acquired from Victor Fortineau & recorded in New Orleans on January 18, 1867. A St. Charles Parish inventory was made on March 26, 1870. 176 Roberts, George W. S 1886-1888 2 X 04026093934908 49 10/29/1857 000470 A native of Pennsylvania, George W. Roberts, died unmarried and without children, apparently in the Jefferson City Hotel at the corner of Levee street and Louisiana Avenue. He was in business with Clement Wilkins and Stephen Sanburn. The three men leased property on the west side of Tchoupitoulas between Delachaise and Louisiana Ave and constructed several buildings on the leased site. Names mentioned in the notes and claims against the estate included: S.H. Fulton, John Foucher, Mr. Lazies, Benjamin Foster, John Haas, The steamboat "Gem", S. Charville. Petitioner was Joseph Getsinger who put up bond with him as principle and Daniel Nape as security. William Clement Wilkins also acted as security for Getsinger. Edward Rawle was the attorney for absent heirs; Algernon Roberts & Edward Roberts. Other local names mentioned were: C. Ulman who paid rent to G.W. Roberts estate; J.M. French and D.C. Woodruff both paid stable rent. Opposition to the estate came from the following persons: In Montgomery County, Pennsylvania: Christopher Hubner (or Heebner); Thomas Ametage; Hugh Hallowell; Thomas Milner; Charles Hallowell (Morristown); James McGlinckey; James McGough; Peter & Jacob Ott as executors of their father, Jacob Ott's estate. Jacob Junior evidently died before it was settled. In Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania: John M. George; George L. Wright; Daniel Shronk; Tobias Miller. In Burlington county, New Jersey: Thomas Miller or Milnor. Also (without affiliation of state or county): Thomas Lynch; Robert F. Potts; & Benjamin Chain, administrator for John Beau of PA. All of these men claim George Roberts absconded with funds on loan to him by them. The attorney, Edward Rawle, claims their opposition is past the date accepted by law both in LA & PA. An extremely long docket it is held in three folders. Folder 176-B begins at marker 000561. Folder 176-C begins at marker 000689 & goes to the end of the reel at marker 000865.
