Part of McDonoghville and all of Mechanickham are now part of Gretna. The "Town of Brooklyn" is now part of Gretna but there were other west bank areas called Brooklyn without "town" mentioned. Certificate of death of John Kihl. Nicholas Girt not mentioned after 19 Feb 1849. French documents reveal Jean Kihl was a weaver, domiciled in Mitzing and it also names his siblings, uncles and aunts. By Nov 26, 1851, Wendel Kass has died. John Helmer, Bernard Dauenhauer, John Theil, uncles, choose a new tutor, John Mutchler and Frederick Urtzman (?)is made under-tutor. Elizabeth weds Charles A. Adams (no date) demands John Mutchler file account of the estate. Mutchler's account is dated 3 Sept 1855. Elizabeth Kiehl Adams now resides in New Orleans. Last document says Elizabeth Keele wed Charles Adams, 23 Jan. 1855 by Judge, G. Lugenhibt and witnesses were Henry Blasse, William Collins and Henry Hammel.
