The impact on the bank and the community is noted by brief stories of these early leaders." ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ EDWARD F. SIMON (1908-1992), was a twenty-eight year veteran of the Jeff Davis Parish Tax Assessors Office. He was a lifelong resident of Jennings. After a brief stint in his father's grocery store and the Internal Revenue Service in New Orleans, he became the Assessor in 1945 where he was elected to that office for seven consecutive terms without opposition. He was named Trust Officer at the bank in 1975, retiring in 1984, but maintained his position as Chairman of the Trust Committee and Secretary of the Board of Directors.
