Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. Jennnings - Thelma SMITH TAYLOR, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in her daughter's residence. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Miguez Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Cooper Cemetery near DeRidder. JENNINGS — Ronald Carlton CHAPMAN, 65, died at 4:43 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Jeff Davis Living Center. A native of Lake Arthur, he was born on Feb. 21, 1938. He was a resident of Jennings for the past 25 years. He was an accountant and the proprietor of Facts 5, and a past state president and exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Optimist Club, and he served in the Army. He loved to bowl and fish. Survivors include two sons, Carl A. CHAPMAN and wife Vickie of San Antonio and Dwayne E. CHAPMAN and wife Dawn of Jennings; two daughters, Debra A. CHAPMAN of Houston and Catherine E. CHAPMAN of Dallas; two brothers, Charles CHAPMAN of Iowa and Don CHAPMAN of Dallas; one sister, Carol Dubuc of Bakersfield, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Eddie CHAPMAN, Scott CHAPMAN, Evan Green, Stacy CHAPMAN and Kylan Trahan. His funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today, Feb. 8, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. Monday. MORGAN SHORES — A memorial service for Mrs. E.G. (Dorothy Paul) KIRKPATRICK, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. The Rev. Jerry Masters will officiate. The body was cremated. Mrs. KIRKPATRICK died at 8:53 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Dubuis Hospital of Lake Charles. She was a native of New Orleans and a registered nurse. In 1996, she and dear friend Nella Cormier formed the New Hope General Cancer Support Group of Jefferson Davis Parish. She was a resident of Morgan Shores for 18 years, moving there from Baton Rouge. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jennings and the sanctuary Sunday school class. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, E.G. "Kirk" KIRKPATRICK of Morgan Shores; one sister, Peggy Paul of Lake Charles; one brother, Herbert Paul Jr. of Houston; six nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and - nephews; and five great-great-nieces and -nephews. JENNINGS — Willma KNIGHT, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, in her residence. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Iota, under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. Visitation is 4:30-9 p.m. today, with rosary at 6:30 p.m. and from 8 a.m. Thursday. Born July 10, 1920, Willma KNIGHT, formerly known as Sis, Nan and TeTaunt, went to be with the Lord at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004. A faithful servant of our Lord, Willma hosted a weekly rosary group in her home and inspired many in their walk of faith. She was a pillar of strength to her parents and brothers and remained the "family anchor" for her many nieces and nephews. Loved and respected by many, the citizens of Jennings even proclaimed April 7, 2003, Willma KNIGHT Day. A native of Iota, Willma KNIGHT moved to Jennings in 1945 and opened her own business, KNIGHT Hardware, where she remained owner/operator for more than 40 years. Through these years she was a leader of women in business, politics and religious organizations. She was a member of Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include five nephews, William Charles KNIGHT, Jon Terry KNIGHT, and Ray KNIGHT, all of Crowley, and Michael KNIGHT, and Morgan KNIGHT, both of Twin Falls, Ind.; three nieces, Elizabeth Dean of Washington, D.C., Mary Catherine Burt of Rocton, Pa., and Nanette Dodd of Brownsville, Texas; nine great-nephews and nieces; two great-great-nieces; and one great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie KNIGHT; five brothers, Clyde, Linas, Ferdie, George and Lester KNIGHT; and her first cousin, Monsignor A. O Sigur. Born Oct. 3, 1927, she was a native of Bristol and a resident of Jennings. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Argie Vincent GUILBEAU of Jennings; four sons, the Rev. Aubrey V. JENNINGS — Mrs. Cassie COLEMAN SIMON, 75, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, in St. Patrick Hospital. She was born in Churchpoint and lived in Jennings most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. SIMON of Jennings; two daughters, Walterine Stallworth of Los Angeles, and Sharolyn S. Cormier of Jennings; one brother, Jim COLEMAN of Houston; one sister, Lucinda Durousseau of Eunice; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday, in the church, with rosary at 10 a.m. JENNINGS — Lois REDEAUX, 66, died at 5:25 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2004, in Jennings. She was a resident of Jennings, and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Adam REDEAUX of Port Arthur, Texas; one son, Broderick W. REDEAUX of Jennings; one brother, Earl Willridge of Springfield, Mass.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, in Union Missionary Baptist Church in Jennings. The Rev. Gerald W. Perkins will officiate. JENNINGS — Funeral services for Ray Lowell MOORE Jr., 57, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, in Jennings United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dick Scott-Welch will officiate. Mr. MOORE died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Jennings and had lived in Welsh before moving back to Jennings two years ago. He was a graduate of the 1964 class of Jennings High School. He received his bachelor's of science degree from USL, now ULL. He was a rice farmer. He was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Bryant Bennett of Houston; one son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Michelle MOORE of Lafayette; two sisters, Nancy Crandall and her husband, George, of Wichita, Kan., and Jeanie Cannon of Lafayette; one brother and sister-in- law, Richard "Ricky" and Donna MOORE of Roanoke; his companion and friend, Kay Ponder of Jennings; his stepmother, Mrs. Naomi MOORE of Lafayette; and five grandchildren, Austin Bennett, Mary-Kate Bennett, Alexis MOORE, Kaitlyn MOORE and Jacob MOORE. A native of Crowley, she was a resident of Jennings for 75 years. She was a graduate of Jennings High School. She loved to read, crochet and watch tennis. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Home Demonstration Club, Jennings Bridge Club, and Entre Nous. She was a Pink Lady at Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a former Cub Scout leader. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, William "Bill" BROUSSARD; three daughters, Jody B. Clary and Christine Nichols, both of Jennings, and Fern Denise BROUSSARD of Lafayette; one son, William David "Billy" BROUSSARD of Jennings; one brother, Robert IRVING of Helena, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. LAKE ARTHUR — Darrell James "Big-D" BROUSSARD, 54, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, in Jennings Guest House. Born on Aug. 10, 1949, he was a native and resident of Lake Arthur. He served in the National Guard and was employed with Scurlock Oil. He loved fishing and motorcycling, and as a youth he loved drag racing. He was a baseball coach for many years. He was a loving father and husband. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Marie DUHON BROUSSARD of Lake Arthur; father, Clarence BROUSSARD of Jennings; son, Wade BROUSSARD of Lake Charles; two daughters, Danielle BROUSSARD and Samantha BROUSSARD, both of Lake Arthur; three brothers, A.C. "Cody" BROUSSARD and wife Shelia, Kent BROUSSARD and Bryan BROUSSARD and wife Monette, all of Jennings; sister, Tina Richard and husband Jay of Slidell; mother-in-law, Edith DUHON of Lake Arthur; and three granddaughters. Mr. BOUDREAUX died at 9 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, in Jennings American Legion Hospital. Joe was born Feb. 1 1956, in Franklin and was a resident of Jenings. He was married to the former Rhonda Fabre and was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. Joe loved music, fishing, woodworking and computers. Joe is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rhonda Fabre BOUDREAUX of Jennings; two daughters, Malanda S. BOUDREAUX and Meghan E. BOUDREAUX, both of Jennings; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Curtis Touchet of Erath and Ann and Mark Pesson of New Iberia; his father-in-law, Exo A. Fabre of Coteau; sisters and brothers-in-law, Randy and Jennifer Harris of Thompson Station, Tenn., Donna Fabre and her friend Ron Hailey of Las Cruces, N.M., and Jerry and Tammy Fabre of Abbeville; and special family and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bertrand and family of Jennings, and Helen and Jimmy Thibodeaux also of Jennings. Visitation is from 8 a.m. today. Mrs. REEVES died at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in her residence. She was a native and resident of Jennings for 66 years, moving from Deming, N.M. She was a graduate of the Deming High School Class of 1935, as valedictorian. She attended New Mexico State College in Silver City, N.M. She retired as a bookkeeper for Fontenot Insurance Agency with 21 years of service. She was past president of Jennings High School Parent- Teachers Association, and member and past president of Entre Nous. Leila was an active philanthropist in support of St. Jude's Research Hospital; United States Olympic Committee; Muscular Dystrophy Research and Development; as well as numerous Animal Humane Leagues. She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, where she served as church organist for 50 years and church treasurer. Survivors include one daughter, Donna R. Cox of Jennings; one son and daughter-in-law, Doyle E. and Wanda REEVES of Houston; one brother, Robert E. BUTSON of Jennings; three grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Rachelle Phenice, Mia and Ed Orgeron, and Kristi Clare REEVES; five great- grandchildren; one nephew; and five nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emory Elliott and Rosa Esterly BUTSON; husband, Frank Doyle REEVES; and one sister, Emma Belle BUTSON George. Ethelwyn ST CLAIR, 90, died at 9:20 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2004, in a local care facility in the loving care of her caregiver, Anna Tekippe. She was born in Elton and was a graduate of Jennings High School. She lived in Beaumont, Texas, for many years before moving to Lake Charles several years ago. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society and South Park Baptist Church in Beaumont, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ray L. ST CLAIR of Lake Charles; two daughters and their spouses, Tootie Crain of Grand Lake and Marion Holder of Denton, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard ST CLAIR, who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 5, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. James Blackwell will officiate.
