A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jennings since 1947, he was the owner of Segura Funeral Home until his retirement in 1980. A member of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, he had been its president from 1956-57 and had served on numerous committees of the association. He was a board member of Fireside Mutual and Commercial Insurance Company for 30 years. He was a past member of the Boat Club and a former member of the Lions Club, having helped organize the Lions Club Crippled Children's Camp in Leesville. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Columbus Council 2012 and a Eucharistic Minister and Parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians Church, where he served on the Mausoleum Committee. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Segura; and one brother, Francis Segura of New Iberia. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel of Jennings. She died at 10:33 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, in a local hospital.
