Arrangements are under direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home. The infant died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, in Baton Rouge. WELDON, Leola S. LCAP 12/23/1998 Funeral services for Leola S. Weldon, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Karl Fuselier will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Mrs. Weldon died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, in a Shreveport hospital. A native of Welsh, she lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a member of Christian Mothers of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include five sons, Anthony Weldon, Lawrence Weldon and Peter Weldon, all of Lake Charles, Charles Weldon of Omaha, Neb., and John Weldon of Shreveport; three daughters, Etta T. Chaplin of Nashville, Tenn., and Jacqulyn Carter and Kenya Brown, both of Shreveport; five sisters, Anna Deruso, Annie Deruso and Beulah Guillory, all of Lake Charles, Eva Baham of Slidell and Ella Wilson of Berkeley, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. WERSTLER, Gladys T. LCAP 7/18/1998 Elton -- Funeral services for Gladys T. Werstler, 80, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 19, in Ardoin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Kinder. Mrs. Werstler died at 8:12 p.m. Friday, July 17, 1998, in the Mamou hospital. A native of Welsh, he had lived in Lake Charles most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie S. Burial will be in Gueydan Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson died at 8:26 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 1998. WOODARD, Charlie W. LCAP 1/20/1998 Welsh -- Funeral services for Charlie W. Woodard, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Hixson Funeral Home. The Rev. John Couch will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Woodard died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, in a Welsh care center. A native of Hensley, Ark., he was a golf pro and coach at Magnolia Country Club of Magnolia, Ark., and coach for high school players at Welsh High School and at Jennings Country Club in Jennings. He was a retired employee of Shell Oil Company with 30 years of service in Magnolia and Iowa, La. He was a resident of Welsh since 1960 and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Argie Cheatham Woodard; one son, Kenneth Woodard of Welsh; two daughters, Carol McMillin and Mrs. Johnny "Kay" Gillet, both of Welsh; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Woods died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, in her daughter's residence. A lifelong resident of Gueydan, she was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and a recipient of a special award from the Diocese of Lake Charles for her devoted service to the church. She was also selected Mother of the Year by the Catholic Daughters in May 1978. She was a member of the Ladies AltarSociety, the Come Lord Jesus Program, and of various other churchcommittees. She was a graduate of Gueydan High School where she was the valedictorian of her class. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Wilda) Trahan Jr. of Gueydan and Vernice "To-Tee" Marceaux of Thornwell; one sister, Mrs. Edward (Ina) Istre of Gueydan; 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in her daughter's residence. WYKOFF, Nathan ,Mrs. LCAP 2/8/1998 Fenton -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nathan (Virginia Grace Keyes) Wykoff, 56, of 23537 Keyes Road, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Greater St. Joseph Baptist Church. The Revs. Nathan Wykoff and Arnold Wy-koff will officiate. Dismissal will be at 10 a.m. Monday with burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Fenton under direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mrs. Wykoff died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, in a Lake Charles hospital. A Welsh native, she lived in Fenton most of her life. She was a member of the Greater St. Joseph Baptist Church, where she was a musician, a member of the Mission, where she was a teacher, youth coordinator, president of the Senior Mission, a deaconess, a missionary for the Eastern Regional for the Calcasieu M&E Association and a teacher of the Women's Auxiliary. In 1984 she founded the Women's Outreach Prayer Fellowship Association. She was a member of the Esther Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 95, of Kinder, and chairperson for Minister's Wife Association. She was a cosmetologist, a seamstress and a beautician. Survivors include her husband; one son, Rev. Arnold Wykoff of Natchez, Miss.; one daughter, Valorie Lynett Wykoff of Fenton; four sisters, Mrs. Letha Maryland, Mrs. Mabel Jones and Minister Yvonne Geneva Wykoff, all of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Cora Lee Alfred; two brothers, Rev. Griffin B. Keyes of Beaumont, Texas, and Minister Herbert Keys of Fenton; and two grandchildren.
