He was a member and past president of the Jennings Rotary Club since 1958, and a member of the Nature Conservancy. He was active in the American Red Cross where he served as the local chairman. He was a member of First Presbyterian church where he served as Elder, receiving treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He was the retired owner of G.P. Modlish, Inc.
