Mr. Eastman died at 10:09 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a native of Jennings and had lived in Lake Charles since 1955. He was a retired operator at PPG with 37 years of service. He was U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Eastman of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mari Eastman Rieth, Kristi Eastman Booth and Jan Eastman, all of Lake Charles; two sons, Scott and Dietz Eastman, both of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarterhorse Association and a member of the Louisiana Quarterhorse Breeders Association. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Community. He graduated from Elton High School and SLI, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Baltimore during World War II. He retired in 1974 after 24 years of teaching and coaching. In 1986, he retired from Pennzoil. He was a member of the Elton American Legion post.
