Mrs. Istre died Sunday, Sept 17, 2000, in Houston. She was a native of Jennings. Survivors include two daughters, Earlene Faye Istre Deglandon and Linda Ray Istre Planchard, both of Houston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ISTRE, Wilbert LCAP 7/10/2000 LAKE ARTHUR &emdash; Funeral services for Wilbert Istre, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Maurice Martineau will officiate. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery, with military rites, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. today and continues until the funeral service Tuesday. Mr. Istre died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2000, in his residence. He was a lifelong resident of the Lake Arthur/Jennings area. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired tug boat captain. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Gatte Istre; five daughters, Margene Richard of Bundick Lake, Venilia Marceaux and Norma Retta Bonin, both of Lake Arthur, Dixie Istre and Helen Istre, both of Granby, Mo.; four stepsons, Nelson Landry of Hathaway, Harold Landry of Houma, Fred Landry of Basile and Geroge Landry of Jennings; three brothers, Wallace Istre, Henry Istre and R.J. Istre, all of Lake Arthur; one sister, Mary Lyon of Lake Arthur; nine grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Sidney Jack Sr. of Elton; one daughter, Debra Woolridge of Lake Charles; four sons, Isreal Jack of Lake Charles, Chris Lavan and Sidney Jack Jr., both of Elton, and Harvey Jack of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Ethel Smith of Beaumont, Texas and Lucille Henry of Houston; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. JANISE, Evan LCAP 9/6/2000 Moss Bluff -- Funeral services for Evan "Butch" Janise, 78, will be at 11 AM today, September 6, from St. Theodore Catholic church. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8 AM. A Scripture service was held Tuesday evening. Mr. Janise died Sunday, September 3, 2000, and in a local care center. He was a native of lacassine and had been a resident of Topsy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served three years in the European Theater. He was a Chairman of the 156th Infantry Reunion Committee. He was the member of the American Legion Post 1. He was a retired life insurance agent for Magnolia life and a butcher for Frank Abates and A&P. He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic church. Survivors include his wife, Adley Bouillon Janise of Topsy; one son, Terry W. Janise of Sulphur; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) Sanders of Claremore, Oklahoma; three brothers, Allene Janise of Arlington, Washington, J.D. Janise of Hammond, Indiana and James Janise of Lake Charles; three sisters, Delores Fontenot of Lake Charles, Nettie Faye Goodman of Ragley and Joyce Jessen of Sulphur; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johns died at 7 p.m.Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in a Dallas hospital. A native of Washington, La., she had lived in Jennings most of her life. She was a longtime member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's Mission Group and a former Sunday school teacher. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Howard of DeSoto, Texas; and two grandchildren. JOHNSON, Christopher, Mrs. 11/7/2000 Church Point - Funeral services for Mrs. Christopher (Rose) Johnson, 60, will be at 1pm Wednesday, Nov. 8, from Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. The Rev. Mrs. Johnson died at 2:15am Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. She was born in Mallet and was a resident of Lake Arthur. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Jones died Sunday, July 30, 2000. He was a native of Jennings and a longtime resident of Lake Charles. He was a former employee of Lake Charles Memorial and St. Patrick hospitals. He was also employed by Phillips Services. He was a 1990 graduate of LaGrange High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include one sister, Dawn M. Jones of Lake Charles; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony (Sandra) Jones of Lake Charles; his maternal grandmother, Ezora Pullman of Jennings; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Lou Bertha) Jones of Moss Bluff. He was a native of Lake Charles and had lived most of his life in Welsh. He was the former owner and operator of Jones Watch and Jewelry Repair. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. and had served in World War II. He was a member of the Welsh Rotary Club, the Welsh Lions Club and Welsh American Legion. He was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolores Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Bernadette "Detta" Jones of Welsh; one son, Thomas B. Jones Jr. of Alexandria; two daughters, Judy Jones Robinson and Mary Dean Jones Sonnier, both of Welsh; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. JOSEPH, Prince F.
