She was a longtime member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America Father Charles Kirk Court and served in many posts, including grand regent. She was the court's 1960 Mother of the Year and its 1991 Catholic Daughter of the Year. She was a six-year member of the Germanfest Singers and a 36-year member of the Lake Charles Messiah Chorus. She was a Pink Lady at Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a volunteer worker at St. Maria Goretti Catholic School for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the choir and a church volunteer. He was a member of the Board of Directors and Director Emeritus of the McNeese Federal Credit Union. He was a member of the Optimist Club and the Lacassine Volunteer Fire Department. He also served as a Navy "seabee" in the Aleutian Islands.
