The Revs. David Restucher and Wayne Dartez will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Arthur under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Visitation is 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 8 a.m. Monday in the church. Mr. Quebodeaux died at 3:42 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, in a Lake Charles hospital. A native of Mermentau, he was a former resident of Cypress Point. He had lived in Lake Arthur since 1947. He was a retired row boat captain. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Amelia Benoit Quebodeaux of Lake Arthur; one son, R.D. Quebodeaux of Sulphur; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Maggie) Smith of Lake Arthur; one sister, Genevieve Hooper of Westlake; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Radke — 8/1/2001 JENNINGS — Funeral services for Melvin R. "Tiny" Radke, 88, of Mermentau, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in Miguez Funeral Home. Mr. Radke died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2001, in a Lake Charles hospital. He was a native of Beaumont, Texas, and he had lived in Mermentau for 37 years. He was a retired carpenter foreman for Brown and Root Construction Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jennings. Survivors include one daughter, Donna G. Radke of Livingston, Texas; one son, Melvin R. Radke Jr. of Orange, Texas; one sister, Melba Hauver of Orange; and three grandchildren. Ravia — 1/3/2001 SULPHUR — Funeral services for Letha Mary Ravia, 90, will be at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 3, in Robison Funeral Home. The Rev. R. Brooks Fleig will officiate. Mrs. Ravia died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in her residence. She was a native of Yampa, Colo., and a longtime resident of Sulphur. She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1928. She was a member of Faith Temple Church. She pastored churches in the Sulphur-DeQuincy area. Survivors include two sons, David Ellis Ravia and Michael Wayne Ravia, both of Sulphur; one stepdaughter, Phoebe Johns Stelly of Sulphur; one sister, Nellie Wright Areno of Sulphur; two brothers, Fred Wright of Sulphur and James Wright of Dry Creek; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Sidney Rideaux — 2/17/2001 Memorial services for Sidney Rideaux, 66, were held Friday, Feb. 16, in King's Funeral Home. The Rev. Alfred King officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mr. Rideaux died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a native of Welsh and had lived in Lake Charles for 62 years. He was an Army veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon. He worked for Coburn Supply Co. for more than 20 years. He was a retired self-employed plumber. Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude R. Captain and Lou Ethel Richard, both of Lake Charles, and one brother, Henry Rideaux of Lake Charles. Mrs. Clementine R. Riggs — 7/20/2001 JENNINGS — Funeral services for Mrs. Clementine ''Nanteen'' Rideaux Riggs, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Rev. John Vianney O. Ijeoma will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel. A wake will be from 5 p.m. today in the church, with a rosary and Scripture service at 7 p.m. Mrs. Riggs died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2001, in a Lake Charles hospital. A native of Opelousas, she had lived in Jennings most of her life. She was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where she served as executive housekeeper and caterer to the parish priests for 47 years until retirement. Survivors include two daughters, Zida M.E. Riggs of Dallas and Genevia M. LaFleur of Houston; one brother, Peter Rideaux of Roanoke; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Randall W. Mr. Roach died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, in his residence. A native of Columbia, Miss., he had lived in Welsh for the past seven years, moving from Jennings. He graduated from a high school in Thessaloniki, Greece, and from McNeese State University. He was a French teacher in Jeff Davis Parish, teaching at Welsh Elementary School and Welsh-Roanoke Junior High for the past nine years. He was involved in the exchange student program. He was a reserve police officer in Jennings. He was a member of the Louisiana Educators Association. He was a Boy Scout leader and a soccer coach. Survivors include his wife, Mona Roach of Welsh; two sons, Alex Roach and James Roach, both of Welsh; one brother, Danny Ray Nannie of Jennings; and one sister, Vickie Roach of Mermentau. Romero — 3/14/2001 WELSH — Funeral services for Clarence E. "Clemy" Romero, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, from Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. The Rev. Visitation is 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday, with a rosary and Scripture service at 7 p.m. Mr. Romero died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in his residence. He was a native of Welsh. He was educated in the Welsh public schools, graduating seventh in a class of 49 from Welsh High School in 1937. He attended Rice Institute from 1937 to 1938. He then transferred to Louisiana State University, receiving his bachelor's degree in business administration in 1942. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Corps at LSU after completing four years of military science. Following his graduation, he was ordered to active duty at Randolph Field in San Antonio. He also served at Kelley Field in San Antonio; Chickasha, Okla. Primary Field; University of Missouri at Columbia Pre-Flight Training Facility; Carswell Air Field in Fort Worth, Texas; Fifth Air Force Replacement Depot at Leyte, Philippines; Air Force Replacement Depot on Biak Island, off the coast of New Guinea; Clark Air Base at Manilla; Iramaugrua, Japan; and Chofu, Japan. He returned to the United States Feb. 2, 1946, and was relieved of active duty as a major. He entered LSU law school in September 1946 and received his juris doctorate February 1949. He was admitted to the bar Feb. 15, 1949. He opened a general practice law office in Welsh. He was elected mayor of Welsh Sept. 6, 1951, as the first mayor under the town's new form of government. He was elected to two successive four-year terms. He was then elected to the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board for a six year term. He was also elected to serve one term on the State Central Democratic Committee. He was selected by the state Supreme Court to serve as interim judge in the Jennings City Court. He was a member of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association, the Jefferson Davis Parish Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association. He served as president of the Jefferson Davis Bar Association. At LSU, he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the Junior and Senior Moot Court boards, Gamma Eta Gamma Legal Fraternity and was president of the Law School. He was in Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, National Leadership Honor Society and the LSU Alumni Federation. He served on the alumni federation's council a number of years and as its National Fund chairman. He was a member of the LSU Athletic Council and served a three-year term on the Board of Supervisors of LSU. He was a chairman of the board's Law School committee. He attended Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. He was a third and fourth degree Knight of Columbus, having served as Grand Knight in the Welsh Council. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a member of the Lions Club and Rotary Club, serving as president in both organizations. He was magistrate of the town of Welsh from 1992 to 1996. Survivors include his wife, Evadine D. Romero of Welsh; two sons, R. Mark Romero of Welsh and C. David Romero of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Renee R. Watkins of Welsh and Lorraine R. Harbour of Round Rock, Texas; two brothers, Gerard L. Romero Sr. of Welsh and Dr. R.C. Romero of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; one sister, Bernice R. Raborn of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Glenda A.
