The Rev. Nathan Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in East Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is from 8 a.m. Friday in the church. Mrs. Eaglin died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002. She was a native of Welsh. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Survivors include six grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Tritina J. Edwards — 4/5/2002 JENNINGS — Tritina Jones Edwards, 33, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, in a Houston hospital. She was a native of Lake Charles, and she lived most of her life in Jennings. She was an alumna of Jennings High School. Survivors include her husband, Clifford Jerome Edwards of Jennings; two sons, Clifford Jones Jr. and Darron Jones, both of Port Arthur, Texas; three sisters, Cassandra Guidry and LaTonya Jones, both of Jennings, and Tammy Jones Comeaux of Port Arthur; her maternal grandfather, Aaron Achane Sr. of Port Arthur; and her paternal grandmother, Lilly Batiste of Port Arthur. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in Fondel Memorial Chapel of Jennings. The Rev. Clifton LeJeune will officiate. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery in Jennings. Visitation is from 8 a.m. Saturday. Lydia B. Elliott — 9/28/2002 LAKE ARTHUR — Lydia Bussy Elliott, 52, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She was a 1968 graduate of Goretti High School. She was a receptionist for the Lake Arthur Health Clinic. She was a member of the Coalition and Church Choirs. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Tara) Owens of Sulphur, Mrs. Troy (Lori) Fontenot of Elton and Mrs. Jason (Davlynn) LeBlanc of Pitkin; two sisters, Mrs. Leroy (Joetta) LaPoint and Mrs. Gerald (Sydney) Trahan, both of Lake Arthur; one brother, Terry Bussy of Lake Arthur; and seven grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 28, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church of Lake Arthur. The Rev. Maurice Martineau will officiate. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation is from 8 a.m. A rosary, led by Martineau, was recited Friday. Mrs. Alzie Ewing — 3/8/2002 JENNINGS — Funeral services for Mrs. Alzie (Landry) Ewing, 93, will be at 1 p.m. today, March 8, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Mrs. Ewing died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, in the local hospital. Wilson Fontenot Jr. — 7/5/2002 Wilson Fontenot Jr. died Saturday, June 29, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Marion High School. He was a member of the Road Brothers Club. Survivors include his wife, Rita Fontenot of Lake Charles; two daughters, Catherine Fontenot and Kimberly Fontenot, both of Lake Charles; and five sisters, Sarah Roscoe of Fallon, Ill., and Karen Paul, Sandra Cravens, Maxcine Ned and Tammy Thomas, all of Lake Charles. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, in King’s Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy R. Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday. Joseph Forrestier — 4/19/2002 WELSH _ Joseph "J.B." Forrestier, 66, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, in a local care center. Audrey Francis — 7/29/2002 Audrey Francis, 77, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, in a local care center. She was a native of Woodlawn and had lived in Lake Charles most of her life. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxillary. Survivors include one brother, Raphel Francis of Lake Charles. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Al Volpe will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King’s Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Sydney Frank Sr. — 9/20/2002 JENNINGS — Sydney Frank Sr., 87, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002. He was a native of Roanoke, and he lived most of his life in Jennings. He was an Army veteran and a World War II veteran. Survivors include five daughters, Patricia Ceasar of Lake Charles, Letha Frank Mosely of Galveston, Texas, and Odeal Jones, Leola Harvey and Letha Ray Holloway, all of Texas City, Texas; four sons, Sydney Frank Jr. of Baton Rouge, Leroy Frank of Lake Charles and Ronald Frank and Larry Frank, both of Texas City; two sisters, Ida Becton of Houston and Mammie Lafanette of Lake Charles; 26 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; a close family friend, Theresa Manuel; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in Raphael and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Horance Bernard will officiate. Burial will be in Old City Cemetery under the direction of Raphael and Son Funeral Home. Visitation is 8-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Johnice Fruge Jr. — 4/24/2002 JENNINGS — Johnice "Johnny" Fruge Jr., 60, died at 3:04 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in the local hospital. He was a native of Hayes. He was a legislative assistant for state Sen. Jerry Theunissen. He was a retired employee of the state engineering department. Survivors include his wife, Linda B. Fruge of Jennings; two daughters, Angela F. Radawicz and Donna F. Hebert, both of Carencro; two brothers, Jimmy Fruge of Branson, Mo., and Ronald Fruge of Bell City; two sisters, Mrs. Laris (Patricia Marie) Borne of Hayes and Clara Phyllis Wilson of Sulphur; his mother, Louella D. Fruge of Bell City; and two grandchildren. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home. Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today — with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m. — and from 8 a.m. Thursday. Maurice L. Fruge — 6/7/2002 WELSH — Maurice Louis Fruge, 86, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, in the Jennings hospital. He was a native of Basile and a former resident of Crowley. He had lived in Welsh for two years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Crowley. Survivors include three sons, Alvin Fruge of Moss Bluff, Elgie Fruge of Mauriceville, Texas, and Orville Fruge of Maurice; one brother, Leonard Fruge of Jennings; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation is 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Saturday.
