He had lived in Lake Charles for 10 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Doumite — 5/10/2002 FENTON — Marie Fenton Doumite, 98, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, in a Kinder care center. She was a lifelong Fenton resident. She was descended from a pioneer family that farmed cattle and rice. She volunteered in the local school. She was a charter member of the Calcasieu chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and had been a member for more than 76 years. She served in chapter, state and national levels of DAR. She served as regent, first vice regent, treasurer, chaplain, Constitution Week chairman, Membership, Good Citizens, National Defense and Conservation in the Calcasieu chapter. She served as chairman of the Fifty Year Club at the state and national levels for many years. She was a member of the Live Oak Chapter of DAR of both Welsh and Jennings. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Welsh. Survivors include one grandnephew, Joe M. Fenton of Sale City, Ga., and one grandniece, Tracy Kahla of Bryan, Texas.
