Mrs. Douglas Keeth — 9/1/2002 JENNINGS — Funeral services for Mrs. Douglas (Marjorie Wallace) Keeth, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, in First Baptist Church. Dr. Arthur Rockett and Brian Wells will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 9 a.m. Monday in the church. Mrs. Keeth died at 3 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, in a Lake Charles hospital. She was a native of Welsh and had lived in Jennings for 77 years. She was a 1940 graduate of Jennings High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a bachelor’s in home economics from Louisiana College. She was a cheerleader in high school and college. She was a retired high school teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Ronald “Ron” (Carol) Keeth of Aurora, Ill., and Randal “Randy” (Pam) Keeth of San Antonio; one sister, Lorraine Brown of Beaumont, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ernest E. Kohnke Jr. — 9/1/2002 Ernest E. “Red” Kohnke Jr., 72, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a native of New Orleans and had lived in Lake Charles since 1957. He graduated from Warren Easton High School in New Orleans. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict and was a naval reservist. He worked at the Times Picayune in New Orleans and the Alexandria Daily Town Talk. He had worked at the Lake Charles American Press since 1957 as a photo engraving supervisor, photographer and sportswriter. He was a member of Outdoor Writers of America, Coastal Conservation Association and Ducks Unlimited. He was past president of the Louisiana Tarpon Club and the Southwest Louisiana Fishing Club. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne Thompson Kohnke of Lake Charles; one son, Ernest E. “Buddy” Kohnke III of Lake Charles; daughter-in-law, Tammy Kohnke; one daughter, Lisa Kohnke Ange of Lake Charles; son-in-law, George Ange; and seven grandchildren. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and a former member of the Ladies Altar Society. She did volunteer work for the Jeff Davis Nursing Home. Survivors include her husband, Edward Lopez of Hathaway; one son, Wendell Lopez of Hathaway; one daughter, Jeanne Lopez of Hathaway; one brother, Richard Gatte of Jennings; and one grandson, Allen Michael Lopez of Crowley. She was a charter member of Roanoke True Friend Benevolent Society. She was a member of Saint James Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess until her death. He was a native of Jennings and was stationed at Camp Baumholder, Germany. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Larzette “Liz” M. Moore of Baumholder, Germany; one stepdaughter, Joselyn Goetz of Baumholder, Germany; his mother, Mrs. Mayo A. Ardoin — 9/10/2002 WOODLAWN — Arvelian Joseph “A.J.” Ardoin, 60, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a native of Lacassine, and he had lived in Woodlawn for 30 years. He served in the Army in the Korean War. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He helped to form the Lacassine Optimist Club, and he was instrumental in the building of the Lacassine Community Center. He volunteered and served on many parish boards. He was a member of the Jeff Davis Mosquito Control board. She owned Lyons Mobile Villa. She was a Calcasieu Parish school bus driver for more than 30 years. She was an active sponsor of 4-H, the Louisiana High School Rodeo Association and Special Olympics. Survivors include two daughters, Renee Lyons of Iowa and Barbara “Tylou” Frost of Houston; one sister, Veronica “Boo” Breaux of Sulphur; six grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. She is survived by three sons and spouses, Wilfred Lee “Pete” and Ann Domingue of Illinois, John and Connie Domingue of Grand Chenier, and Walter Leo and Uvonne Domingue of Jennings; three daughters and spouses, Dorothy and Irvin Lee Landry and Mary Jean Thibodeaux, all Grand Chenier, and Joyce and Carroll Landry of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mary Dirks and Velma Henry, both of Jennings; 18 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was a native of Welsh, lived in New York for 42 years and had lived in Beaumont for two years. He was a carpenter and interior decorator in New York. She was a native of Jennings and a resident of Westlake. She was a 1985 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff. She was an active member of Gateway Church of God. Elliott — 9/28/2002 LAKE ARTHUR — Lydia Bussy Elliott, 52, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She was a 1968 graduate of Goretti High School. She was a receptionist for the Lake Arthur Health Clinic. She was a member of the Coalition and Church Choirs. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Tara) Owens of Sulphur, Mrs. Troy (Lori) Fontenot of Elton and Mrs. Jason (Davlynn) LeBlanc of Pitkin; two sisters, Mrs. Leroy (Joetta) LaPoint and Mrs. Gerald (Sydney) Trahan, both of Lake Arthur; one brother, Terry Bussy of Lake Arthur; and seven grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 28, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church of Lake Arthur. The Rev. Maurice Martineau will officiate. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation is from 8 a.m. A rosary, led by Martineau, was recited Friday. Pallbearers will be Eric LaPoint, Troy LaPoint, Mike Bussy, Russell Brous-sard, Dominique Monlezun and Arthur Leger. Angelina D. Hormell — 9/29/2002 JENNINGS — Angelina D. Monceaux — 9/30/2002 LAKE ARTHUR — Frances Broussard Monceaux, 80, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, in a Lafayette hospital. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
