Mr. Abbey, 73, of Elton entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 18, 2004 in Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Abbey; two sisters, Stella Abbey and Adeline Battise; one brother, Wilbur Abbey and one niece, B.J. Speth. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Full obit in LCAP Sept 11, 2004 John Baccigalopi, Sr. (LCAP) Nov. 19, 2004 John Baccigalopi, Sr., 57, of Lake Charles died at 8:05 PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 in a local hospital. Mr. Baccigalopi was a native of Welsh and had lived there most of his life before moving to Lake Charles 15 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. Mr. Baccigalopi had worked security at Calcasieu Marine National Bank for several years and was presently working for Henderson Implement. He was a member of VFW in Welsh and was attending St. Margaret Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons John Joseph "Joey" Baccigalopi, Jr. of Westlake and Robert James "Bobby" Baccigalopi of Welsh, one daughter Melissa Ann "Missy" Andrews of Norfolk, VA, his mother Elia Baccigalopi of Welsh, one brother James A. Baccigalopi of Lake Charles, one sister Alicia Jean Moldoon of Welsh, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Shelia Baccigalopi. Elizabeth Baker LCAP Dec 21, 2004 Elizabeth (Betty) Baker, 83, of Lake Charles died at 10:28 PM on Friday, December 17, 2004 in a local care facility. Elizabeth was born to her parents Miriam and Charles Robbins in Jefferson Davis Parish. She was a graduate of Jennings High School and Port Arthur Business College. Elizabeth worked as a legal secretary before her marriage to Jay R. Baker in 1940. They lived in Sulphur, Hackberry and Jennings before moving to Lake Charles where her husband owned and operated Jay?s Conoco Service Station for many years. She was an active member of St. Michael?s Episcopal Church, several bridge clubs, the Entre Nous (formerly garden) Club and other organizations. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Baker of Lake Charles, three nieces and a nephew in Texas, a number of cousins in south Louisiana, and her beloved cat, Black Kitty. She was preceded in death by her husband Jay R. Baker and her brother Charles Robbins. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 1:00 PM at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The Rev. Peter Cook will officiate.
