Parks Wilmer Phillips Parks, 82, died Sept 16, 2004, in the local hospital. Full obit in LCAP Sept 18, 2004 Marian M. Patterson JENNINGS - A memorial service for Marian M. Patterson, 80, will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jennings with Reverend Tom Reighney officiating. Mrs. Patterson died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at her residence. Funeral home visitation was from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday. She was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a 1941 graduate of Jennings High School. She graduated from SLI, now ULL class of 1944 and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity She was a retired school teacher, member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, charter member of the Jennings American Legion Hospital Pink Ladies, served on the board of directors at the Zigler Museum, Carneige Library and South Louisiana Holiness Camp Meeting Association, member of the Revelers and Entre Nous. In 2002 she received the 10th annual Jennings McComb Award from the Chamber of Commerce “for dedication and service to our community”. She was also the recipient of “Friends of the Arts” award from the Arts Council. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann Shipp of Houston and Susan Comeaux and husband Shelby of Crowley; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Joy Toups of Missouri City, Texas; five grandchildren, Craig Louis Toups and wife Danya of Baton Rouge, Lucie Shipp Tredennick and husband Owen of New Orleans, Carrie Leigh Comeaux of Crowley, Christopher Ben Comeaux of Crowley and Amanda Toups Seymour and husband Justin of Greenville, Texas and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church, Louisiana Hospice Foundation or Heifer International. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Wand Lou Phenice Lake Arthur - Wanda Lou Derouen Phenice, 63, died Nov 21, 2004, at Jeff Davis Living Center. Full Obiturary in LCAP; Nov 23, 2004, Section A; Pg 2 Jacob Potts Jacob Potts, 30, of Lake Charles died Aug 8, 2004. Mr. Potts was born in Kinder, and he was agraduate of Fenton High School. He lived in the Fenton area for 12 years before moving to Lake Charles 6 years ago. Note: Full obit in LCAP Aug 21 & 22, 2004, Section A, Pg. 2 Mr. Herman Precht, Jr. (LCAP) 7-5-2004 Herman " Budgie " Precht, Jr., 64, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004 in a Lake Charles hospital. A native of Jennings, Louisiana, (Born: June 27, 1940) Herman lived most of his life in Grand Lake, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Grand Lake High School receiving his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from McNeese University. He was a member of Grand Lake Faith Temple. He was retired having worked as a field representative for Walker Properties and was a deputy with the Cameron Parish Sherriff's Department, where he was started and administered the DARE program of Cameron Parish. Survivors include his wife, Murrel D. Precht of Grand Lake; Son, Tommy Precht and wife, Yvette of Grand Lake; Nephew, Jamie Brown of Grand Lake; Sisters, Nancy Nunez and husband, Garner of Grand Chenier, Pat Faulk and Debbie Howerton and husband, Pat of Grand Lake; Brother, Phil Precht and wife, Val of Grand Lake, Grandchildren, Seth Custer, Ethan Precht, and Erin Precht. His funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 5, 2004 in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Andrew Martin and Rev. Chris Fuselier officiating with interment following in Highland Memory Gardens of Lake Charles. A time of remembrance was will be held from 5 - 9 pm, Sunday, July 4th in the funeral home. Daniel "Billy" Predium (LCAP) 6-24-04 Daniel "Billy" Predium, 66, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in his residence. He was born Jan. 9, 1938, in Welsh to the late Adam and Hazel Gallow Predium. He lived in San Jose, Calif., for 26 years and returned to Lake Charles 12 years ago. He is survived by two sons, Marcus Predium of Winnfield and pastor Lane Hawkins and wife Toyea of Vallejo Calif.; three grandchildren, Kaholia, Toyea and Roreigna Hawkins of Vallejo; five brothers, Adam Predium Jr. and Raymond (Margaret) Predium of Lake Charles, Paul (Edna) Predium of Lynwood, Calif., Lionel (Consuella) Predium and Manuel (Woody) Predium of Moreno Valley, Calif.; four sisters, Leonia Chavis and Brenda (Adam) Jones of Lake Charles, Geraldine (James) Cross of Vinton and Rosetta Valentine of Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rose Chavis. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, in St Memorial Church. His son, pastor Lane Hawkins, will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Friday
