Mrs. Vanicor was born Aug. 15, 1957, in Kinder. Full obit in LCAP Sept 3, 2004 Allan Roy Venable (LCAP) 6-22-04 Mr. Allan Roy Venablel was born July 2, 1938, and lost a courageous battle with cancer at MD Anderson Medical center in Houston, on June 20,2004. As he told us before he had to leave, he's now with us as the special angel to all those whom he loved. He was born in Iota and enjoyed being a Bulldog until his 1956 graduation from Iota High School (and a lifelong fan). He graduated from Pharmacy School at North­east State Louisiana University in Monroe, in 1961. Following a pharmacy, management and consulting career of 42 years in Lake Charles, he retired to Iota. He enjoyed being a member of the Lion's Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was a past president of the Calcasieu Parish Pharmaceutical Association. Mr. Venable loved spending time with people and gardening. He enjoyed sports, especially hunting. He is survived in this life by his loving wife, Dolores McFarlain Venable; sister, Madeline Venable; two daughters, Lisa Venable Manuel R.Ph. and her husband and children, Gary Manuel M.D., and Chad and Jay Manuel, and Rhonda R. Venable Ph.D.; stepchildren, Richelle McFarlain Frey and her husband and daughter, Kenny and Caroline Frey, Donald MeFarlain and his fiancee, Alison Dietz and their children, Christopher and Jeanne-Caire Fleming, and honorary daughter, Jeri Fitzpatrick M.D.; sisters-in- law, Sheila Veronie, Louella Gotte and Ethel Hewett; mother-in-law, Ellen Lejeune Veronie; and aunts, Blanche Henderson and Georgia McNeil. He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Jean Veronie and parents, Frank and Coy Venable. Please join his family for fond remembrances and a ce1ebration of his life. Visition' is 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, with' rosary at 7 p m and from 9 a.m. Thursday, June 24, in Geesy-Ferguson Funeral home in Iota. His funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Evangeline. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Jennings. Cecile Bourque Vincent Jennings- Mrs. Cecile Bourque Vincent, 90, died Nov 10, 2004, in the Jeff Davis Living Center. A native of Kaplan, she was a resident of Jennings since 1975, moving from Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ophelias and Marie Primeaux Bourque. Full Obituary in LCAP Nov 11, 2004 Section A; Pg. 2 Rogie Elizabeth Vital (LCAP) 6-4-04 WELSH - Mrs. Rogie Elizabeth Vital, 79, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in her residence. She was a resident of Welsh for most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Bibble Simien Joubert of Welsh, Janice (Mike) Vital Hebert of Lafayette and Ruth Vital Woods of Lake Charles; one sister, Velma M. Sims of Hitchcock, Texas; one brother, Murray Paul Mitchell of Gueydan; seven grandchildren, April Renee' Joubert, Andrea Joubert, Brittany and Cody Woods, and Ashley, Christopher and Evan Hebert; and four great grandchildren, Chelsea, Chaz, Camryn and Ly-jha. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin M. Vital; parents, Paul and Cecilia Sonnier Mitchell; and stepfather, Frank Johnson. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, from St Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Bon Pasteur Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
