He was born in Ville Platte, and he lived most of his life in Lake Charles before moving to Elton several years ago. While in that church, she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters, and she would often cook for the Legion of Mary. Born In Freetown, she was a resident of Lake Arthur most of her life. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and a member of the senior mission and choir. She attended the Senior Citizen's Center in Lake Arthur. Allan Roy Venable (LCAP) 6-22-04 Mr. Allan Roy Venablel was born July 2, 1938, and lost a courageous battle with cancer at MD Anderson Medical center in Houston, on June 20,2004. As he told us before he had to leave, he's now with us as the special angel to all those whom he loved. He was born in Iota and enjoyed being a Bulldog until his 1956 graduation from Iota High School (and a lifelong fan). He graduated from Pharmacy School at North­east State Louisiana University in Monroe, in 1961. Following a pharmacy, management and consulting career of 42 years in Lake Charles, he retired to Iota. He enjoyed being a member of the Lion's Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was a past president of the Calcasieu Parish Pharmaceutical Association. Mr. Venable loved spending time with people and gardening. He enjoyed sports, especially hunting. He is survived in this life by his loving wife, Dolores McFarlain Venable; sister, Madeline Venable; two daughters, Lisa Venable Manuel R.Ph. and her husband and children, Gary Manuel M.D., and Chad and Jay Manuel, and Rhonda R.
