He had been a resident of Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings since February 2005. He was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Lake Charles to Evelina LeBleu Aaron and James R. Aaron. A descendant of one of the early pioneer families of Calcasieu Parish, Major Joseph C. LeBleu and Leonise “Grand-Maw Joe” LeBleu of the LeBleu Plantation in the Chloe area. He was a graduate of Iowa High School, where he remained very active in school functions until two years ago. He was also one of the founders of the Iowa High School Athletic Association. He retired from Cities Service Oil Company after 34 years. After retirement he helped establish Allied Plastics. He served his country during World War II and was part of the invasion of Normandy Beach. He received the African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and also a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 3006 and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Monsignor Cramer Council, and he was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 1, VFW Post 9046 and Louisiana American Veterans. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Aaron Hebert and husband Jerry A. Hebert of Iowa; one granddaughter, Jerilyne Hebert Theriot and husband Darren of Chloe; four grandsons, Joseph “Joey” Hebert and wife Jill of Chloe, Jude C. Hebert and wife Adrienne of New Orleans and Jeremy P. Hebert and Jerred A. Hebert, both of Iowa; and six greatgrandchildren, Austin Theriot, Blaise Theriot, Lakyn Hebert, Zach Hebert, Kaleb Hebert and Sage McManus. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Gwen Biven Aaron; parents; two sisters, Virginia Aaron Kilborne and Barbara Aaron; and two brothers, Reginald Aaron and Frank Aaron. Mrs. Aguillard was born in Thornwell and was a longtime resident of Iowa. She was a graduate of Iowa High School, worked in Iowa at Calcasieu Marine National Bank for a number of years, and then worked at the Iowa Post Office until her retirement. Mrs. Aguillard was a member of the Iowa First United Methodist Church, past matron of Rebecca Chapter 2, Order of the Eastern Star and one of the founders of the Iowa Garden Club. She loved to travel with her family and crochet, and was an avid collector. Mrs. Aguillard is survived by her sister, Ruby Teddlie of Iowa; two daughters, Jo Carroll Barhan of Alvin, Texas, and Kathleen Hamilton and her husband, Alex, of San Antonio; one son, Patrick Carl Aguillard and his wife, Darnell, of Iowa; three grandchildren, Aaron Scott Yocham, Kelly Kathleen Stevens and Ashley Dawn Aguillard; and two greatgrandchildren, Zelia and Geneva Yocham. He was a native of Thornwell and lived in Iowa for over sixty-five years. Mr. Aguillard was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and Consistrey of the Eastern Star. He was retired Fire Chief for the Iowa Volunteer Fire Department, serving for nearly sixty years with the department. He was Awarded Volunteer Fireman of the Year in 2003 and was given the Keys to the town of Iowa. She married Harvey Ancelet Sr. on July 8, 1956; they raised their family in Sulphur. She was a member of Our Lady Of LaSalette Catholic Church and was a Cursillista. Agnes and Harvey owned Daigle’s Grocery and Ancelet’s Cajun Crawdad’s. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children and grandbabies were her life. Agnes never met a stranger. She was a hostess for Robison Funeral Home for four years and will be dearly missed by all the lives she touched. She was a lifelong resident of the Iowa/Lacassine area. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters. Libby was a very talented seamstress, having made clothing for many people in the area, and was an avid gardener. Survivors include one son, Alfred "Sonny" Ardoin, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Sulphur; three daughters, Nelda Marie Cookson of Iowa, Norma Lee Guillory and husband, Enes of Lacassine, and Priscilla Belle Richard and husband, Russell of Lacassine; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. ARDOIN, Mary LCAP 10/30/2005 Our tears we now weep, but heaven now has a true love reunited. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has brought our mother home. Mary Geneive Landry “Jean” Ardoin went to heaven Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005. She was born on Dec. 27, 1923, in Lake Arthur to Adolph and Olive Guidry Landry. She grew up in the Mermentau and Welsh area. On May 30, 1944, she married Andrew Ardoin at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh. Monsignor Jules Daigle performed the ceremony. They made their home in Iowa. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America Court 1377. In 1989, she was named Daughter of the Year. She was a member of the St. Raphael Altar Society and was a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World, Iowa AARP 4922 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary 9933. She retired from the Calcasieu Parish School System. Mom continued to teach us of her faith and love for the Lord even through her illnesses and dying. Mom had unquestionable faith. We have lost a precious Christian role model. Mom always had a love and dedication to her faith and family. No one was ever turned away, and you were always welcomed. She showed her love in her eyes and smile. Mom, Maw Maw, GG Ardoin, Ms. Ardoin, Aunt Jean, Jean, however you knew her, you know what you meant to her and her to you. An angel who walked among us, she will continue to watch over us. We wish we could name each person who helped us in this difficult time, but the names would be endless. We want to thank you for your love and friendship to Mom and to us. Mrs. Ardoin was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ardoin; her parents, Adolph and Olive (Guidry) Landry; brothers, Edward, Emile, Henry, Wilson and Wilton Landry; and sisters, Dot Allen and Betty LaFleur. She is survived by her seven children, Andy Ardoin and wife Kerry and John Ardoin and wife Susan, all of Lake Charles, Pat Ardoin and wife Jody of Iowa, Judi Kamouie and husband Abbass of Palm Desert, Calif., Elaine Guillory of Iowa, Connie LeBlanc and husband Larry of Sulphur and Darlene Gueringer and husband James of Welsh; 17 grandchildren, Shawn and Andrew Ardoin of Lake Charles, Recee and Maggie Parker of Sour Lake, Texas, Andre Kamouie of Los Angeles, Rob Ardoin of Houston, Sara Ardoin of Lake Charles, Joshua and Jacob Guillory of Iowa, Tracy LeBlanc of Austin, Texas, Chris LeBlanc of Sulphur, Courtney LeDoux of Sulphur, Lauren, Lindsey and Leigha Ardoin of Iowa and Samantha and Cody Gueringer of Welsh; greatgrandchildren, Lora and Skyler Ardoin, Alyssa and Allison Kamouie, Caleb Farris, Kaylee Ardoin and Colin LeBlanc; sisters, Lorena Wells of Fayette, Mo., Clara Blair of Broussard and Grace Hildebrand of Wyoming, Mich.; brother, Wilbert “Bobby” Landry of Iowa; numerous wonderful nieces and nephews, sistersand brothers-in-law and dear friends too numerous to name. A CDA rosary and Scripture service were held Oct. 5. A memorial Mass will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, from St. Raphael Catholic Church. A2 column 2 FENTON — The funeral Mass for Alied Augustine, 94, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Fenton. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will be in LeBleu Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Mrs. Augustine passed away at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005, in her home. She was a lifelong resident of Fenton and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation is 2-10 p.m. today, with a vigil and a rosary at 6 p.m. led by Father Augustine Mulanjanany, and from 8 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Survivors include four sons, Orville Augustine and his wife, Jan, of Kinder, Bennett Augustine and his wife, Patricia, and Jerry Augustine and his wife, Freddie, all of Fenton, and Phil Augustine and his wife, Brenda, of Lake Charles; two daughters, Carol Denison and her husband, Fred, of Iowa and Vita Ardoin and her husband, Walter, of Kinder; one foster daughter, Jean Duplichan of Elton; one foster son, Steve Menard and his wife, Debbie, of Welsh; 29 grandchildren; 60 greatgrandchildren; and 21 greatgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William McKinley Augustine; daughter, Eula Mae Sharp; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
