A2 column 3 Lake Arthur - The funeral for Mrs. Joseph E. (Adele Laurents) Flash Jr., 85, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2005, in First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur. The Rev. David Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation is 5:30-7 p.m. today and 3-7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and from 8:30 a.m. Monday in the church. She died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in Cornerstone Hospital of Southwest Louisiana in Sulphur. She was a native of Lake Arthur and a graduate of Gueydan High School. She married and moved to Ville Platte to raise her family. She resided in Grand Chenier and retired to Lake Arthur. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in each community she lived in. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a former Sunday school teacher and a vacation Bible school principal. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Earl Flash Jr. of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Adele Suzanne Flash Wardman of San Clemente, Calif.; one son, Robert Brent Flash of Lake Charles; two sisters, Joy Weldon of Thibodeaux and Alice Kelly of Orange Beach, Ala.; one brother, Robert B. Laurents of Springfield, Va.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Adele Champagne Laurents; one brother, Gus Laurents Jr.; and one son, Joseph Earl Flash III, formerly of Columbus, Neb. FONTENOT, Cornelius LCAP 8/18/2005 ELTON — Funeral service for Mr. Cornelius Fontenot, 97, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, from St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Visitation is 5-10 p.m. Friday, with rosary at 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Fontenot was the son of the late Cornelius Fontenot and Emma Couetee. He was born May 12, 1908, in Mamou, and died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, in Mamou. He was a school bus driver for Jeff Davis Parish for 19 years, owner of Fontenot Grocery and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elton. Survivors include three children, Roderick Fontenot of Beaumont, Texas, Nellius Fontenot of Houston, and Emma Fontenot of Elton; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild. A native of Jennings and a 1974 graduate of Jennings High School., she was a resident of Lake Charles the past thirty years. Mary was a Christian and attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God. She worked in the Hotel Management Industry and was a former delegate of The National Republican Women’s Committee. Survivors include her mother, Frances Smith of Jennings; children, Nicholas W. Fontenot, Miranda E. Fontenot, and Ethan J. Fontenot, all of Sulphur; sisters, Frankie Touchet of Jennings, Debbie Seaux of Iowa, Phyllis Mallett of Roanoke; father of her children, Bradley Fontenot; grandparents of children, Lloyd and Wilma Fontenot of Welsh; numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Harold Smith and sister, Dale Smith Conrad. Native of Mermentau, Mr. Fremaux was a resident of Jennings moving from Estherwood. He was a retired district supervisor with Entex after 38 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Carol Ann) Rhodes of Beaumont, Texas, Mrs. Kenny (Charlotte) Kennedy of Crowley, and Connie Dugas of Jennings; one stepson and spouse, Kenny and Joyce Vogel of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Fremaux was preceded in death by his parents, Paul E. and Eva Conner Fremaux; fist wife, Anita Istre; second wife, Margaret Vogel; and one sister, Laura F. Haydel. He was a member of Our Lady Seven Dolors Catholic Church, a graduate of Welsh High School and a member of the Lowe’s Syndrome Organization. He is survived by his parents, David Wayne Fruge and Ilean Sonnier Fruge of Welsh; one brother, Donovan Fruge of Welsh; and his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Leona Fruge of Jennings. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Steven Sonnier and Gladys Lejeune Leger. He was also cared for by two special nurses, Mona Hebert and Barbara Lucas.
