Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. James Fallon, SSJ, will be the celebrant of the Mass. A native of Breaux Bridge, La. where he was a farmer and a resident of Jennings, La. since 1954 where he worked until he retired. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where he volunteered for many years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Ophelia P. John; daughter, Shirley J. LeBlanc; an adoptive son, Louis Phillips; sister, Alexina Barber; sister-in- law, Arnesta Bazile; brother-in-law, Abbey Phillips; son-in-law, Wilbert LeBlanc Sr.; three grandsons, Wilbert LeBlanc Jr., Michael LeBlanc and Donald LeBlanc; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five adoptive grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John John and Mary Louise Alexander John; two brothers, Martin John and Joseph John; and two sisters, Martha Celestine and Electa Edmond. Visitation will be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. today at Syrie Funeral home and will continue from 7 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. A native of Woodlawn, Louisiana, she was a resident of Lacassine. Mrs. Joubert was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a life member of Court Sancta Maria Catholic Daughters. She retired from the Jefferson Davis School Board Cafeteria. Survivors include her sons, Archille Joubert, Jr. and wife, Judy of Iowa, J. B. Joubert and wife, JoAnn of Moss Bluff ; daughters, Judy Joubert of Moss Bluff, Sheila Courville and husband, Glenn of Scott, LA; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Her service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday , January 31, 2005 from Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Father Augustine Mulanjany and Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate with burial in Lacassine Cemetery under director of Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Visitation wil be 5:00 - 10:00 PM, Sunday with the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 PM and Monday from 8:00 AM until service time in the funeral home.
