Native of Jennings, Mrs. Newton was a resident of Prairieville. A loving mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, Mrs. Newton was retired from self-employment. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales. The Revs. Raymond Wade and Dr. James B. Law will officiate. Interment will be in Lusk Cemetery in Gonzales. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today, Aug. 18, and from 8:30 a.m. Friday. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Robert Wendrock of Prairieville; three sons and daughters-inlaw, Nolan and Weezie Cashat of Gonzales, James and Beth Newton of Lake Charles, and Tim and Annie Newton of Venice, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Nelson Henning of Lake Charles; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mack and Peggy LeDoux of Arlington, Texas, and Lowell and Ruth LeDoux of Brookhaven, Miss.; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marquette and Edna Fontenot LeDoux; spouses, Earl P. Cashat and James M. Newton; sons, Larry L. Cashat and T. Michael Newton; three brothers, Wilber, Sherman and Jake LeDoux; and one sister, Thelma Myers. In lieu of flowers, please send donations for mission in Brazil to Community Bible Fellowship, P.O. Box 871, Gonzales, LA 70707. NIXON, Mary Elizabeth LCAP 04/01/05 Pg. A2 Mary Elizabeth Nixon, 73, died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Welsh. Survivors include one brother, Burnis Harmon of Welsh; and two sisters, Margie Bennett and Wanda Thibodeaux, both of Welsh. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, in Fondel Memorial Chapel in Jennings. The Rev. Franklin E. Fondel Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Eastridge Cemetery in Welsh. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday.
