Funeral is April 4 with cremation to follow. PATTERSON, Ernestine M. LCAP 08/19/2005 Ernestine M. Daniels Patterson, 30, was found dead Friday, June 17, 2005, in Jennings. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in Fondel Memorial Chapel of Jennings. The Rev. Samuel West Jr. will officiate. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jennings. She worked at Iota State School. Survivors include her husband, Calvin Patterson of Darrow; two sons, Quinn and Gabriel Patterson of Darrow; two daughters, Malki Daniels of Jennings and Kiara Patterson of Darrow; parents, Adolph and Evelyn Daniels of Jennings; three brothers, Adolph Jr. and Durell Daniels, both of Jennings, and Gavin Daniels of Lake Charles; six sisters, Patricia Rougeau of Lake Charles, DeShawn Daniels and Evelyn Renee Daniels, both of Church Point, Contessa Daniels of Opelousas, Tamiko Daniels of Houston and Jessica Daniels of Jennings; maternal grandmother, Mae Katherine Williams of Los Angeles; and maternal great-grandmother, Bessie Edwards Thomas of Los Angeles. A2 column 4 Acy Charles Perkins Jr., 51, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in his residence as a result of a house fire. He was born in Lafayette and lived in Jennings most of his life. Survivors include one daughter, Shantel Gray of Baton Rouge; one sister, Velma Lee Williams of Orange, Texas; and one brother, Will (Bertha) Perkins of Jennings. His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Jennings under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Hyacinth Okafar will officiate. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church. PHILIPS, Clarence LCAP 10/29/2005 LAKE ARTHUR — Memorial services for Mr. Clarence Phillips, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Mallalieu Methodist Church in Jennings. His body was cremated under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. PITTS, Lester Jr. LCAP 12/27/2005 The funeral for Mr. Lester Pitts Jr., 82, will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 27, 2005, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Masters officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation is 8 a.m.-noon, when the body will be taken to the church. Mr. Pitts died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, in Jennings American Legion Hospital. He was a native of Wynona, Okla., and he lived in Jennings for 49 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Citgo Oil Co. as a mechanic. He was a charter member of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership Program. He was a member of American Legion Post 19; VFW Post 3686; Blue Angels of Jennings American Legion Hospital; and First Baptist Church and its Builders Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Selvy Pitts of Jennings; a daughter, Frances P. Scott of Spring, Texas; a son, Leslie Jay Pitts and wife Patty of Prescott, Ariz.; a sister, Dorothy Hofstra of Greenville, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Alta Stevens Pitts Sr., and one sister, Lelia Lott. Pallbearers will be Neal Daniel, Jody Hoag, Vance Pitts, Israel Pitts, Bryan Pitts, Carroll Richard, Jared Richard and Terry Lavergne. Honorary pallbearers are Basil Daniel, Bill Vanya, Bob Bollich, Don McCoy and Joe Wiegand. PRECHT, Ruth R. LCAP 05/24/05 JENNINGS – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 3 p.m. at Jennings United Methodist Church for Ruth Robertson Precht, 86, who died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Rev. Wayne Taylor and Dick Scott will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. when the body will be taken to the church. Mrs. Precht was a native of Iota and a graduate of Iota High School. She was a resident of Jennings for five years after moving from Sweet Lake. She was a homemaker, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Jennings United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Dwight Precht of Jennings; three daughters, Carolyn Marks of Jennings, Mary Beth Tilley and husband James of Toledo Bend and Kayla Ruth Fournerat and husband Gerald of Lake Charles; three sons, Charles Dwight Precht Jr. and wife Charleen of Iota, James "Jimmy" Precht and wife Linda of Jennings and Thomas Dwain "Tom" Precht and wife Kim of Jennings; 17 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Parker and Allie Maude Warnick Robertson; three brothers, James, Melvin and Carl "Speck" Robertson; one sister, Jo Anne Ginn; two grandchildren, Michael Tilley and Joshua Thomas Precht and one son-in-law, Roy Marks. Visitation is from 8 a.m. He was born May 4, 1912, in Wann, Okla. He was a resident of Jennings. He was a supervisor for Shell Oil for 32 years. He served in the Army in World War II. He was a member of VFW and a charter member of Habibi Temple. He and his wife were married for 69 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elvie "Bruce" Prouty of Jennings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salem and Harriet Black Prouty; three brothers; and five sisters. PRUDHOMME, Truman J. LCAP 11/15/2005 Truman Joseph “T.P.” Prudhomme I 74, was born April 7, 1931, in Pine Island. He was called home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Lacassine. He proudly served in the Korean War as a staff sergeant. He owned and operated TP’s Grocery in Fenton for 25 years. Truman was a beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Loula Ann “Yannie” Mott Prudhomme of Fenton; one son, Jeffery Blaine Prudhomme of Iowa, La.; one daughter, Jennifer Renee Pousson and husband, Rick, of Fenton; three grandsons, Truman Joseph Prudhomme II of Elton, Dustin Blaine Prudhomme of Iowa and Bradley Keith Pousson of Fenton; one granddaughter, Sarah Denee Prudhomme of Iowa; one stepgranddaughter, Brandy Fontenot of Iowa; one stepgrandson, Khristopher Fusilier of Iowa; seven greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Carlette Roe of Carencro. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Lynette Prudhomme; and parents, Arcade Prudhomme and Lydia Leger Prudhomme. His funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, from St. John Catholic Church in Lacassine. Visitation is 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today, with rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
