Rev. Ken Domingue will officiate for the services. Burial will be in the Tee-Mamou Cemetery. Visiting hours began on Thursday at 1 p.m. and will last until time of service. She was a native of Jennings and a resident of Maringouin. She loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandbabies. Survivors include her husband, Carl Joseph Reed of Maringouin; one son, Brandon Gregory Hebert and wife Tricia of Tepetate; two daughters, Sherry Renee Ashford and husband Michael of Lake Charles and Amanda Faye Darbonne and husband Blake of Tepetate; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarphy and Audrey Reed of Evangeline; her mother, Mary Jane Leger Semar of Hayes; three brothers Kenneth Charles Semar of Holmwood, Walter Joseph Semar of Hayes and Johnny Semar of Iowa; two sisters, Pamela Kaye Gauthreaux of Sweetlake and Janet Semar of Bell City; and four grandchildren, Gabrielle and Grayson Ashford, Madison Darbonne and Layton Hebert. Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews and Son Funeral Home. REEVES, Ovie Ray Sr. 01/04/2005 TOPSY — Ovie Ray Reeves, Sr., 68, died on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in his residence. Mr. Reeves was born in Topsy on Feb. 3, 1936. He worked for Carroll Grey House as a dozer operator for many years. He was a member of the Carpenter and Pile Driver Local 953. Mr. Reeves was a member of First Apostolic Church of Moss Bluff. He was an avid woodsman, hunter, and fisherman. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Thelma "Jean" Reeves; two sons, Robert and Ovie "Kitchie" Reeves, both of Topsy; four daughters, Liz Reeves of Moss Bluff, Jan Willis of Reeves, Patty Durio of Kinder and Marion Davis of New York; one stepson, Dale Fruge of Lake Arthur; 18 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; four brothers, Clifton, Wayne and Mervin Reeves, all of Topsy, and Charles ‘‘Pete’’ Reeves of Moss Bluff; and two sisters, Joyce Cleary of Lake Charles and Marie Gill of Moss Bluff. He was a retired grocery manager working with George Theriot and Market Basket. He was also employed with Grand Cove Nursing Home. Born in Freetown, Mrs. Robinson lived in Jennings most of her life. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior choir, senior mission and the Mothers Club. She was a retired school teacher from Jeff Davis Parish. For many years she taught at many schools including Ward Elementary and Jeff Davis High. She was a graduate of Texas Southern University of Houston, Southern University in Baton Rouge and Purdue University of Lafayette, Ind. She received her master’s degree in education from Texas Southern University and was a member of the National Association of University Women. She was preceded in death by Cynthia Robinson. Survivors include two daughters, Andrea Robinson and Cherylene Noel, both of Jennings; one brother, Joe Lee Simon of Jennings; five grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
