THIBODEAUX, Clarisse LCAP 04/15/05 PgA3 Clarisse "Gladys" Thibodeaux, 90, of Lake Charles died at 3:40 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2005 in a local care facility. Mrs. Thibodeaux was a native of Lake Arthur and was a life long resident of Lake Charles. She was a chapter member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and of the Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include two sons, Murphy Joseph Thibodeaux, Jr. and wife Frances of Lake Charles and Jimmy A. Mrs. Trahan died after a lengthy battle with cancer at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at her residence. A lifelong resident of the Jennings-Roanoke area, she was a graduate of Jennings High School. She attended the School of Nursing in Mobile, Ala. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, having working in the Mobil e Infirmary, Memorial Hospital, Jennings American Legion Hospital and the Jeff Davis Living Center. She sang in the choir at both the Jennings United Methodist Church and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, where she was a member. Survivors include her husband, Mr. J.C. Survivors include her husband, Tim Tramel of Welsh; one son, Joel Tramel and wife, Elaine, of Elton; one daughter, Jamie LeBlanc and husband, Chad, of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Rose Marie Johnson and husband, Curvin, of Basile, and Joey and Martin Chatalain of Elton; and two grandchildren, Andy Tramel and Madison LeBlanc. He was born on April 22, 1921, in Crowley, the fifth child of Gilbert Tyler and Mariah Pete Tyler. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the home of his daughter in Texas City, Texas. Gilbert, affectionately known as "DD," moved to Welsh with his family in 1937 and later met and married Luvenia Mae Prudhomme. To this union one daughter was born, and he fathered one son. After the death of his oldest sister, he and his wife raised her three children. He was a World War II veteran, a retired Jeff Davis School Board worker, a faithful deacon of New Hope Baptist Church and a 3 rd-degree Mason of Lone Star Lodge 131. He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter and son-in-law, Joel and Mary Eva Castille of Texas City; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward James and Carolyn Guidry of Lafayette; one beloved niece, Helen Quinn Harmon of Denver; three beloved nephews, Ervin and Geraldine Quinn of Welsh and Charles Quinn of Inglewood, Calif.; two sisters, Alma Bellard of Welsh and Elizabeth Bendy of Beaumont, Texas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors.
