Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Arthur, La on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Don Milliron officiating. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM until the time of her services. Mrs. Oliver will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Leroy, in St. Anthony Cemetery. Mary was born in Gainsville, Florida, on May 28, 1926. She was the daughter of Samuel Willis Williams of Live Oak, Florida, and Esther E. Platt Williams of Dowling Park, Florida. While living in Tampa, Florida, she met and married Leroy Oliver of Lake Arthur, March 3, 1943. They moved back to Lake Arthur in 1945 where Mary lived until moving to Golden Age of Welsh in 2006. Mary was a housewife who loved working in her community. She was a member of the Lake Arthur Women's Library Club, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Methodist Women's Auxiliary, and a choir member of the Methodist Church and the Coalition. She had been President and Vice President of the Lake Arthur School PTA. Mary loved to travel and took many tours across this country, and abroad. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Patricia E. Oliver Trahan, and husband David James of Zwolle, Louisiana, Mary Susan Oliver Gagneaux, and husband James E. Jr. of Lake Arthur Lakeside, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one sister, Betty W. Pagett of Lake Placid, Florida. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Leroy Oliver, brothers, Charles Williams of Tampa, Florida, Leon Williams of Largo, Florida, Paul Williams of Sarasota, Florida, sisters, Eunice W. Mrs. Ordoneaux died Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:10 p.m. at her Lake Arthur residence. She was the daughter of Alvin and Julia Coleman Gould Sr. and was born in Ged, Louisiana. A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Interment was in St. Anthony Cemetery. Mrs. Dorothy was a homemaker. She was an Aunt to everybody, and loved flowers. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include her husband; Norman Ordoneaux of 62 years of Lake Arthur; two sisters, Betty Ruth Belcher of Galveston, Texas and Neda Ann Harris of Galveston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Orais, Lynn, Christopher, and Brian Schlesinger, Pat Bowers and Bob Gould. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Doyle Patrick Gould and Alvin Gould, Jr.; and one sister, Mary Lou Boudreaux. Visitation was held Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Clyde Thomas officiating. A rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. by Mrs. Yvonne Nunez. Mr. Ordoneaux was called to rest Saturday afternoon, May 23rd, at 3:00 p.m. at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. He was born in Jennings to the late Alfred Louis and Edna Marie Miller Ordoneaux. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur beginning on Monday, May 25th from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 26th from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Ordoneaux will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery. Mr. Ordoneaux was a retired State Representive for three terms. He was an oil broker and a rancher. Mr. Ordoneaux survived by a brother, Allen E. Ordoneaux and wife Barbara of Jennings; sister, Ethel O. Hines of Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Ordoneaux and two sisters, Zita Ordoneaux and Edith Bower. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Mrs. Pearson died at 9:33 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 at her granddaughter's residence in Lake Charles. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School. She received degrees in Commerce and French from Louisiana Normal College, Class of 1941. She taught for 36 years at Lake Arthur High School. She loved life and being with family. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She dearly loved having dinner with her "special friends." She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Charles Ray Pearson and wife Paula Lavergne Pearson of Many, La., and Joseph H. Pearson and wife Carolyn Gage Pearson of Lake Arthur; one sister, Ethel McGarity of Sulphur; one brother, Paul Champagne of Lake Arthur, her grandchildren, Phyllis Loftin and husband Billy Loftin, Jr., Joelle Pearson Halpern and husband Edward Renee' Pearson, Chris Pearson and wife Doreen, Katie Pearson, Elliott Pearson, and Jordan Pearson; her great grandchildren, Lindsay Loftin, Haylie Loftin, Blake Pearson, Lance Pearson, Charlotte Halpern, Madelyn Loftin, Alex Loftin, Logan Loftin, Hannah Halpern, and Dylan Pearson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florine Joseph and Katherine Trahan Champagne; her husband, Ray Harmon Pearson; one brother, Russell Champagne; and one sister, Laura Champagne Broussard. Burial was in Andrus Cove Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
