LAKE ARTHUR--Funeral services for Mr. Joseph D. Feverjean , 84, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. today, Thursday until time of services Friday. A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Feverjean died at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Feverjean was a resident of Lake Arthur since 1972 moving there from Kaplan. He was a retired crane operator in the oil and gas industry and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Edlore Laviolette Feverjean of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Sharon Rizzuto and husband Mike of Gueydan; three sons, Derrell Feverjean and wife Marilyn, Keith Feverjean and Clint Feverjean all of Lake Arthur; four sisters, Leonie LeMaire, Nola Landry and Hazel Broussard of Kaplan and Eula Mae Lormand of Crowley; one brother, J.C. Feverjean of Kaplan; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Posted March 22nd, 2010 FLOYD, Rhonda Faye Janice Jennings: Funeral services for Rhonda Faye Janice Floyd, 42, will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, La. on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Minister Jimmy Sterling Shinn officiating. Rhonda was called to her Heavenly Father Saturday morning after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21st from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday, March 22nd at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest in the Abshire Cemetery. Rhonda Faye was born in Jennings, La. to Ruby Mae Monceaux Kimball and the late Jean Adonis Janice in June of 1967. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. Rhonda was a wonderful person who loved being around people. She loved giving swimming lessions to our area young people. She also enjoyed playing pool and foosball. Rhonda will be truly missed by everyone for whom she has touched their lives. Interment will be in the Gueydan Cemetery. Father Don Leger will conduct the services. He is survived by his three sons: Joseph (Patricia) Francis of Youngsville, LA, Darrell (Joanne) Francis of Lafayette, LA and Lawrence Francis of Gueydan, LA; four sisters-in-law: Hilda Francis of Lafayette, Lara, Beverly and Anne Campbell all of Gueydan. He will also be missed by his nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation hours will be observed from 8AM-11AM at the KC Hall in Gueydan. Welsh Citzen 1/15/2010 CROWLEY - Dr. Jack Russel Frank, 92, noted pediatrician until his sudden death Saturday, January 2, served Acadiana’s children throughout his lifetime. Dr. Frank died at Lafayette General Medical Center. Dr. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Marlene Melancon; six sons, Jack Russell II of Atlanta, Ga. and his wife, Rae Ann Kloser; Timothy Craig of Las Vegas, Nevada and his wife, Patricia Walsh; Gregory Jon of Homestead, Florida and his wife, Anna Zaninetti; Jeffrey Miles of Crowley and his wife, Laura Trahan; Kevin Frem of Crowley and his wife, Kathleen O’Meara, and Theodore Robley Frank of Crowley and his wife, Alice Trahan. Dr. Frank also has 17 grandchildren, Jane, Emma, Kevin, David, Jack, Joseph, Ella, John Thomas, William Jeffrey, Sam, Luke, Zachary, Sydney, Jack III, Genevieve, and Claudia. He was also expecting the arrival of number 18 due in April. Dr. Frank was the son of Theodore Frank and Jeanette Frankel. As a lifelong resident of Crowley he graduated from Crowley High School in 1935. He became the second Eagle Scout in Acadia Parish, attaining his rank in 1931. In 1942 he received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. In 1943 he completed his internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He served in World War II as a captain in the Army attached to the Air Force Medical Corps. He was stationed in the European Theater of Operations on a troop carrier. After the War Dr. Frank returned to Crowley and began a practice in Pediatrics that covered 40 years. A pioneer in pediatrics, at one time he was the only pediatrician between Houston, Texas and New Orleans. He held memberships in numerous medical organizations. He was widely known. He was appointed by the governor to the Ad Hoc Committee for development of the Facility for LSU Medical School and was director of the Louisiana Economic Development and Gaming Board. On the local level he served as director of Acadia Savings & Loan. He also owned and operated a 600-acre farm and acted as president of Frankel Farm and Irrigation Corporation for over 20 years. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley with Fr. Keith Derouen officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Asn. or the Altheimers Association. ----------------------------------------------------------------
