Brown Funeral services for Irene Thompson Sailor Brown, 100, of Orange, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Revs. Ed House and Tom Howe will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is 3-10 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Brown died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in an Orange hospital. A native of Fenton, she had lived in Lake Charles since 1957 before moving to Orange several years age. She worked in aircraft factories in California during World War II and worked as a practical nurse at one time. She once owned and operated Sailor's Beauty Salon in Kinder. She was a member of the American Red Cross. She was a longtime member of University United Methodist Church of Lake Charles and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Orange. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 164. Survivors include one brother, Dalcourte W. Thompson of Leesville; and several grandchildren.
