All rights reserved. http://theusgenweb.net/copyright.htm ~~~~~~~~~ Chevis services set Wednesday JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Ophelia Taylor Chevis, 100, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Rev. Ken Bartsch will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of H.G. Raphael and Son Funeral Home. A wake will be from 6-10 p.m. today, with an 8 p.m. rosary. Mrs. Chevis died at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 1994, in a local hospital. A native of Cankton, she lived most of her life in Jennings. She is survived by five sons, Junius, Nelson and Louis Chevis, all of Jennings, and Joseph and Lester Chevis, both of Opelousas; six daughters, Louise Guidry, Mrs. Russell (Laura) Rideaux, Irene Dartez and Delores Cormier, all of Jennings, Mrs. Paul (Willie) Lewis of Opelousas, and Lydia Ross of Lake Charles; 61 grandchildren, 113 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
