June 26, 1920 Page 1; Column 2 Jay S. DeWolf. The remains of the late Jay S. Dewolf [sic], who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. B. Suddarth, in Kansas City, Mo., last Saturday, arrived in Welsh Monday morning and were taken to the home of J. R. Jones, from where the funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 o'clock a. m. Paralysis, from which Mr. DeWolf had suffered for several years, was the cause of his death. The deceased was 73 years, 8 months and 18 days old at the time of his death. The deceased is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters. They are James DeWolf, who resides in California ; Allen DeWolf, of Woodlawn, La. ; Emma, Mrs. F. D. Suddarth, of Kansas City ; Della, Mrs. J. R. Jones, of Welsh, and Nina, Mrs. D. K. Miller, of California. Mr. DeWolf came to Louisiana from Kansas City more than twenty years ago, residing on a farm near Woodlawn. His hobby was horticulture, and for a number of years he conducted one of the finest citrus fruit farms in the country. About four years ago his health began failing and he went to Port Arthur to reside with his daughter Nina. About six weeks ago he went to Kansas City, to the home of another daughter, Mrs. Suddarth, where he died. Following the funeral services at the Jones home the remains were laid to rest in Oaklawn cemetery.
