Ill health was said to have been the contributing factor in the suicide, and members of his family had watched closely, fearing that the man might attempt to take his own life. Yesterday afternoon he left the house with his gun saying that he was going to shoot some hawks. Shortly afterward his wife heard the report of the gun and upon investigating found the lifeless body of her husband. Dr. V. A. Miller of Lake Arthur, coroner, held an inquest and pronounced the death, a suicide. He is survived by his wife and eleven children. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Lake Arthur Catholic Church with interment in Andrus Cove Cemetery. The deceased had been a resident of this parish for the past four or five years, having moved to the Lake Arthur community from Cameron Parish. He was said not to have been financially embarrassed and worry over poor health was said to have been the only motive for self destruction. —Jeff Davis Parish News.
