Services Held For J.D. School Board Member
Funeral services for Evert Aaron (Shorty) Sharp, 57 of 
Woodlawn, a member of the Jefferson Davis Parish School
Board from Ward 8, were held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the
Iowa Methodist Church.

Rev. R.R. Miller, pastor of the Iowa Methodist Church, 
and Rev. E.R. Haug, former pastor, now of Sulphur,
officiated. Burial was in Pinehill cemetery of Iowa.
Hixon funeral home of Lake Charles was in charge.

Mr. Sharp died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Charles
Memorial Hospital.

He was a retired farmer, and was with C.I. Abel and Sons
of Welsh at the time of his death. He was a member of the
Iowa Lions Club, Iowa Methodist Church, and was active in
civic and community affairs.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucille Sharp; three sons, 
Malcolm, Richard and Evert Hugh Sharp; two daughters, 
Misses Beverly and Mildred Sharp; his mother, Mrs. Sylvia
Sharp; and two sisters, Mrs. George Koonce, and Mrs. L.H.
DeWolf.
